Finally Success with IG

I have been focused on twitter until the recent updates that forces me to look into other sources for traffic. Been playing with IG for quite awhile and had lots of failure with this particular platform due to account ban, shadow post,etc.

However I think I have finally cracked the puzzle to getting traffic from this platform.

Note: I am not using ANY bot and all actions are done manually.

Firstly, follow/ unfollow works very well if your account is not banned nor shadowed. My current followback rate is about 30-45% of each batch of follow.

Secondly, do not abuse hashtag, more does not mean better. Try to contain and limit the hashtag usage to around 5 at most. Too many hashtag usage can cause shadow of your post which results in lesser reach.

My setup:
1) One smart phone, I am running 5 IG accounts. ZERO ban after 6 weeks of testing. I am using multiple sim cards that I have purchased. Each local sim cards cost me around $5.
2) Currently I am using five smart phone (cheap China phones that you can get from Banggood).
3) Each IG account is getting around 200-400 visits to my offer site daily. Note I will not reveal my niche. But you have to be using a professional looking site and own domain to avoid ban
4) Out of these visits, I have a conversion rate of around 1%-4%. For CPA offer, the conversion rate is around 1%. Whereas for product selling, the conversion rate is closer to the upper tier.
5) I post new contents up to five times a day, limiting hashtag usage to not more than 5.
6) I do not use proxies at all
7) Each account focus on different niche but so far the ones that I have the most success with conversion are those none cpa niche.

My total setup cost:
$5 per sim x 25 sim card = $125
5 smart phone x $90 = $450
The above are one off expenses. I will not recommend this setup to anyone unless you know what you are doing (and please do not accuse me of trying to promote any BST, I checked and there is no one selling smart phones in the BST )

Why am I willing to invest this amount?
I can always resell the smart phone via ebay to get back some portion of my spending. And these cost are one off and not recurring but my potential revenue is recurring.

Daily work:
a) Find relevant images to post with DESCRIPTIVE messages that attracts people to read. Do not spam your offer here.
b) Always post a call to action asking to follow and like as well as visit link in your bio. It works well.
c) Following/unfollowing schedule.
Day 1: Follow 100 (Follow between 5--20 per batch. Do not mass follow as the account is still very new)

This is optional. I do not follow those that requires permission to be followed. I simply cancel the request and move on. Not really interested in them as I think the chances of them following back is very low since they will be flooded with lots of follow requests and have not time for me.

Day 2: Remember only start to unfollow exactly after 24 hours of your last follow. This is critical to avoid shadow ban. Unfollow 100. ( Do in batches of not more than 20 each time). Do not follow on this day. IG is tracking for rapid follow/unfollow to churn followers and ban these accounts.

Day 3: Only post updates.

Day 4: Resume following

Day 5: Resume unfollowing

Day 6: only post updates.

Rinse and repeat

Some of you might question why don't I scale up with more following at this stage. Remember these are brand new accounts and I am still building track records to warm them up so no point rushing and getting ban.

Did I face any reverification requirement so far? Nope, never. Am I block for following/ unfollowing? Only once when I tried to follow and immediately unfollow the same day. Any accounts banned for promoting CPA offers? Nope.

Earnings so far (about 6 weeks):
1) $54 for CPA offer so far
2) $270 for affiliate offer (different from CPA)
3) Others (aka dropshipping/ product wholesale) - $5k+ (note this revenue is very different as this is a legit business that I own personally that focus on wholesale or bulk selling thus this is not a normal revenue range). I have made back my cost of investment so far.

Hashtag research:
I only uses the inbuild IG app to search for relevant hashtag. Example, when I type fitness, I can see other related hashtag, I uses a spread sheet to jot them down.

Blackhat Technique that you can use to speed up the grow. You can try to get immediate likes to your post or comments to create engagement. I noticed that the faster the likes and comments came in, the higher your post will rank and get even more each. However I prefer not to use this approach as I am trying to grow the account for long term recurring revenue.


So here I admit, I was totally wrong with IG and it is certainly possible to succeed with IG at this stage. All it takes is more experiment to get things to work.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I as going to ask what someone already asked which was how many hours do you spend on a daily basis doing this? Do you have to physically change the sim card on the phone each time you log in and out and do that the 4 or 5 times a day that you follow 20 people? That seems like a lot of work. I'm not familiar with proxies myself so I'm probably talking out of my ass but can't you use something like that to streamline the process of logging in and out of 25 accounts and use just one machine instead of 5 phones. I'm sure its the manual part of all of this that's keeping you under the radar and the lower volumes so its smart but also seems like a lot of work. If you are able to scale it then great, I'm sure this is all a test anyway for that sort of thing so well done on doing it.

Personally I would have added an extra step in by doing just updates in between the follow day and unfollow day just to be sure that 24 hours have passed. If I am getting it right you follow about roughly 20 people 5 times a day so if you are logging in with 25 accounts that 125 times a day. That's like a full time job just doing that. Its cool you had so much success with your retail products but how do you have time for that and this? You will have to find capable people to hand that task off to if you are going to keep doing it manually. I'm glad to hear that IG traffic is converting well for you. Can I ask how much of the traffic is going to your sales page and what the conversions are on that? I remember a PM we had regarding Etsy and you told me of a niche there, I am assuming its that one given the 30 - 40% follow back ratio which is huge. I understand you cant mention the the niche or confirm that here so I will just assume . I never get that sort of follow back ratio myself but do it for varying niches so it's hard to get an accurate average that one can expect to see on them.

I have a few corporate clients for social media management services and some could benefit from increased follower counts. Is there any special way you target the people to follow. If I were doing this on twitter I would just search for other businesses in that space and follow the people that they follow as that is normally a better list than the list of people that follow them. What I mean is it is a more targeted list. The people who follow an account could be anyone but the people who are followed by a business account have in most cases been screened or at the very least are much smaller more targeted list of people related to the industry. Is this the same on IG?

Lets's say I am using an account that belongs to one of the businesses I work for and am following with it. If for any reason the accounts gets a ban from this can you get the account back? I know on Twitter it's just a case of a nice message to them saying "hey sorry I didn't know I could not do that. I was told to follow people so I did, wont do it again blah blah blah" Is it the same on IG? Obviously I dont want to risk the official accounts of some of these companies so what would the best strategy be for this and what sort of limits would you put in place?

3- 5 hours spread across the day. Do note that I am also working on other business at the same time thus I do not sit there the wholeday just for IG. Also I am planning to outsource to cheap labour shortly as there is a lot of manual work to be done.

Yes no bots at all. If you cannot make money without bot, what makes you think that bot can magically and suddenly make money for you right? This is my line of thinking.

For this project I am using Maxbounty but I will not advise this network as the offers are pretty limited and my conversion rate is terrible. Try to shop for other CPA network in the BHW CPA section. I was previously accused of promoting BST so nowadays I would try to avoid recommendation to avoid such accusation.

I am IG app for multi account management. I think I am constantly warming up the accounts. Remember I am not following more than 100 per day. And follow by batches so that it resemble a real user ( I am a real human here ) I started immediately upon creating the account with the posting/ following but not the unfollowing. Do not do unfollow/follow the same day.

Out of every 100 followers, I get average 18 engagement, 0 saved, 65 impression, 18 likes (this is the engagement), 50 reach, 5 comments. I know this is not impressive and can be improve further.

For IG, based upon my setup above I have never had any ban issue. Not even block except when I first begin the test and try to follow/unfollow the same day. Nevertheless IG is very strict and account banned are very hard to get back. I know as I had many accounts banned previously.

I think IG is a bit different from Twitter when it comes to following the niche followers. It seems that top post account followers are usually very responsive. But do note that I am excluding those private accounts as I do not think they will spend the time to follow back due to enormous amount of request flooding their inbox.

For the manual work wise, see I am using residential IP with different unique device. So I am able to consecutively login to multi account using the same IP. And 20 follow takes like less than 3min of work. My plan is to ensure consistency in revenue before outsourcing to cheap workers ( I am paying $1.80 per hour). So to be honest I do not see myself doing this manual work forever.

I think I have discussed with you through PM with regards to retail product selling and Etsy. I guess you still have an impression of my theory on bulk selling. I did not expect that it works so well with IG as it seems that there are a lot of web shop owner who are hungry to buy fast selling cheap products in bulk. Also the live video on IG allows me to showcast the product in real time to potential buyer so that they are assured that I do own the products and not just another dropshipper. Basically this step allows me to collect payment through wire transfer without going through Paypal or credit card (Wohoo, no chargeback!!)

The process certainly can be improved. And I think some of our fellow members would be able to automate the entire process. In my case I just want to create a recurring revenue source through this project.

Try to follow the followers of the account for top post in your niche. It usually works well for me. Follow back rate is higher partially because my account looks legit and not spammy. So it helps to make sure your account look decent.

You can zoom at pixel level to check that this is a genuine and none manipulated earning report. Not very impressive as conversion rate for CPA offers are really low.

Not really a lot of time spent. I trade forex, crypto so have to spend time on my laptop anyhow. My regular business are done via emails so most are not time sensitive. Twitter is on automated mode since I uses bot to run them and service clients. For IG, I think the max I spent is only 3-4 hours a day spread across the day during my free time.

Yes it works, initially I was skeptical as I keep failing with IG and it cost me more than what I can make. So now I have to admit my mistake since I was proven wrong. I think you can try 5 accounts, IG app allows you to manage up to 5 accounts per device.

Lastly I forget to mention that I am using a business profile for all my IG accounts which means I tied them to a respective facebook fanpage. Business profile allows me to collect indepth statistics as well as demographic info regarding my followers.

For the manual work wise, see I am using residential IP with different unique device. So I am able to consecutively login to multi account using the same IP. And 20 follow takes like less than 3min of work. My plan is to ensure consistency in revenue before outsourcing to cheap workers ( I am paying $1.80 per hour). So to be honest I do not see myself doing this manual work forever.

I think I have discussed with you through PM with regards to retail product selling and Etsy. I guess you still have an impression of my theory on bulk selling. I did not expect that it works so well with IG as it seems that there are a lot of web shop owner who are hungry to buy fast selling cheap products in bulk. Also the live video on IG allows me to showcast the product in real time to potential buyer so that they are assured that I do own the products and not just another dropshipper. Basically this step allows me to collect payment through wire transfer without going through Paypal or credit card (Wohoo, no chargeback!!)

The process certainly can be improved. And I think some of our fellow members would be able to automate the entire process. In my case I just want to create a recurring revenue source through this project.



Try to follow the followers of the account for top post in your niche. It usually works well for me. Follow back rate is higher partially because my account looks legit and not spammy. So it helps to make sure your account look decent.



You can zoom at pixel level to check that this is a genuine and none manipulated earning report. Not very impressive as conversion rate for CPA offers are really low.

Not really a lot of time spent. I trade forex, crypto so have to spend time on my laptop anyhow. My regular business are done via emails so most are not time sensitive. Twitter is on automated mode since I uses bot to run them and service clients. For IG, I think the max I spent is only 3-4 hours a day spread across the day during my free time.



Yes it works, initially I was skeptical as I keep failing with IG and it cost me more than what I can make. So now I have to admit my mistake since I was proven wrong. I think you can try 5 accounts, IG app allows you to manage up to 5 accounts per device.

i won't you to no your well liked on here and dont take offence of any mod there just worried that the newbies try and copy you and then there be caos with recommendations with links ok....

i am always in trouble making mastakes but the mods are really nice just need to be honest and there help

This is my worry as well. I am worry that some members here will just blindly spam on IG.. (aka IG+OGads style). As this will cause alot of problems for marketers like myself. IG is a goldmine if exploit right but we do not want to kill the goose that lays the golden egg right?

Yeah I never follow people on any network with a private or locked account. On both Twitter and Instagram you are asking for trouble if you do this. You are infinitely more likely to get reported by another user for spam if they have to review your request. If people are set to private and have to moderate who follows them they are probably going to ignore or report a request. Even if they ignore, that gets noticed by Twitter and IG so that if you get too many ignores they will ban you just the same.

This is from personal experience of following 400k+ people manually on Twitter and about 100k+ on Instagram across multiple accounts. This was over the last 4 years and the bulk was done at the beginning of that so I imagine a bunch of changes have happened since but that rule still stands true and following private accounts is trouble!
