Finally Made an Account!

Hello-
I have been reading about internet marketing for a while now, and finally decided to make an account to actually post. I am a high school student interested in making some money for college, and I'm very good with technology; I'm fluent in many different programming languages. I've made iPhone apps before, but those made me almost nothing, so I thought I would give IM a try.
I have been reading for a while, and I think I have a general understanding. However, I'm a bit uncertain as to how to actually start. There are so many seemingly-different areas on this forum (blackhat, whitehat, blogs, affiliate, ppc, etc.), so I'd really just like to know which one to try first. If anyone has any advice for me, I'd appreciate it. I know that this takes time and work to be successful, and I'm not looking to take shortcuts or be lazy. Thanks for everything, and I look forward to getting started with this!

Thank you all so much for all the kind replies! I think I'm going to start off with a blogger blog to learn the basics without spending too much money, if anything at all. There's so much great information here to go through!
