i've got a keyword with 165k exact local UK searches, 245k global. I want to know which affiliates i need to sign up with?

I think i'l be able to get people to fill it a form/survey that will then give them a download link for what i'm offering, i'm thinking i could get paid twice :)

Could maybe get people to submit and email adress aswell, not sure if you can get paid for this.

Can anyone tell me what networks offer these affiliate types and what they pay?

I also wan't to keep a clean site that won't get de indexed, anything i should avoid doing? I think i'l be able to get ranked top 3 with minimal linking.

Also should i build a html website for this or will a wordpress blog be fine?

I have been search for a couple of hours now, i don't think im using the search function right!

i'm a complete noob with IM but i've been getting good seo results with an ecommerce website.

thanks for any advice you can give! Also if there's any good posts you know of already, guides etc that will point me in the right direction, i'd be greatful.

If this is your first attempt at IM, a phrase with the amount of searches you've mentioned could be incredibly difficult to obtain. You may want to double check the information in case you forgot to check exact match, I've been doing this for years and have still found what I thought were great phrases, only to double check and realize I'd mis-checked a box!

Once you've done this, you'll want to try to buy an exact match domain name, even if you have to add a "-" between each word. If you cannot find one that's close, double check your search results and make sure that a few exact match domains are not already dominating the SERPS, as this will make marketing your site even more difficult. If you're SERP results look all clear, buy the closest exact match domain you can for your phrase.

For building the site I would recommend wordpress over trying to do everything in html, as it is incredibly easy to make changes to, and Google is able to easily read and understand the Wordpress platform, so much in fact that they have started giving your notices in webmaster tools if your wordpress version is not up to date.

As for affiliates, I would start by signing up with clickbank as well as commission junction and start reading over their offers. Clickbank will give you more of the downloadable offers where as Commission junction will be more signup type offers. If you've got room on the site don't forget to toss in a few adsense ads for good measure.

One of the best ways to keep your new site from being de-indexed is making sure that you are using 100% unique content, don't try to spin anything and I would even be a bit wary of buying the first few pages of content, knuckle down and get them written yourself so that you know they are original.

I like to start off new sites with a few natural links from blog sites(5-15 links on a good private blog network), followed by a blast of about 125-175 manually created social bookmarks (I find overseas help to be great for this!). After that get a few nice UAW articles created at a site like getarticlesdone, fire them through UAW.

After a few weeks of this, I normally like to break out SENuke and spin up some of the articles from UAW, create a few good link wheels and create a few of the more spammy links for the site. I'd stick with web 2.0 sites, social sites, article networks, and possibly the bookmarks in SENuke. It can be a pricey program but you can pay people to run it for you, or use the free trial they offer for the first part of your campaign, just be careful using it because if you do it wrong you can definitely "nuke" your site. Done right you can get really good rankings fairly quickly.

In the end just be prepared to be patient, it can be hard to know just how competitive a term is until you're actually targeting it, and 3-6 months time is not bad for a strong ranking, in fact if the traffic you mentioned is accurate, I'd say even a year or two of work would be well worth the effort if you've got a good affiliate the pays well and converts.

I hope this helps a bit, feel free to post any other questions and I'll try to help you out more.

I've double checked it's definately on exact match :) I can't get the exact match but i can with the dash.

The serps do not look hard, the 1st and 2nd will be extremely hard. 3rd place i would expect in 1 - 2 months.
The current 3rd position has 36 different websites that link to it (majestic seo) and it isnt an EMD.

Adsense will be pointless as no one uses ppc for this keyword.

Any idea what clickbank and commision junction pay?

I'l definately be using unique content and i'l be alright getting it up there.

I would need a new site every 2 years, but ive checked and the EMD's are available for years to come. I'd imagine this would only get more popular as the years go on.

Do wordpress or google dislike affiliates?

So i'm going to create a multiple paged wordpress blog, with guides faq etc and a page that is content locked with a form of some sort, they fill it it and it shows them a link. They download the file and i get paid? Anything else to tell me?

Also i don't actually have the file that they are trying to get, i was thinking i'l upload a rar file with a txt file inside saying the file had to be removed due to copyright infringement, check back often as we are currently working on a legal version.

Thanks for taking the time to help me out

Keep in mind that a #3 spot will get you good traffic, but it's really key to get that #1 spot as it receives more traffic than the 2nd-5th spots combined on Google. If memory serves me you'll get about 15-17% of the possible traffic for the #3 spot, with that much search volume it's defiantly still worth it, just something to keep in mind.

If you turn on re-targeting in adsense you'll make more money than if you were shooting for text ads for the content of your site anyhow. Some of my best adsense clicks have come from re-targeted ads.

This is going to vary based on the offer, it's set by the advertiser not clickbank or CJ

Wordpress could care less about affiliates, Google claims to dislike them and will penalize your site if it's incredibly ad-heavy above the fold, but at the end of the day, Google makes a ton of cash off of spammy sites covered with adsense, I don't see them cutting into their revenue that deeply, but that'd just my opinion.

i think i might be able to attract a lot of clicks by what im offering, i'l have to use my meta data wisely.

Just had a look at clickbank and i can't see anything that might sell.

If i use adsense and localised it, what would google show? If theres nothing to buy related to my keyword?

    thanks again

Adsense will shows ads to your visitors from other sites they have visited in the past that are running re-targeting campaigns. I'm sure you've been served quite a few of those ads in the past without even realizing it. They could be ads for anything, trust me Google will never leave one of those spots blank, it's cash for them!
