    Hey guys,

reading topics like "How do you actually make money on LinkedIn" makes me wanna puke. LinkedIn has the highest paying audience out there. They are not some bums or teenagers logging from Symbian Facebook app.

They are actual business owners, auditors, CEO's, traders, IT professionals, freelancers etc

Cannot sell to business owners? Go work at McDonalds.
Cannot sell to IT guys? Go work at McDonalds.
Cannot sell to start-ups? Go work at McDonalds.
Cannot sell to marketing pros? Go work at McDonalds.

Now when all crybabies have left this topic, let me introduce you to the game plan.

I've been doing LinkedIn marketing for my clients for over 2,5 years. Now it's time to build own business there. Here's a brief overview of that I will be doing:

    1. PROFILES

I will be using my own real profile as the end-point of lead generation. When LinkedIn blocks your fake profile, even though you can create a new identical one and send connection requests to all former connections from it, many people won't accept the request because you were "out of their picture". Your profile must be active if you might need to re-connect with people at some point.

Second reason for that it's very hard to create a brand around fake profile because you cannot shoot a video or sign a legal contract under a fake name. While selling expensive shit on LinkedIn, you need to have at least one real profile. Point blank.

Right now I have around 50 fake profiles. 25 of them are quite developed (500-1500 connections), other 25 are new and will be developed shortly. I have almost all LinkedIn bots publicly available on the market, also some private ones. Unfortunately, many LinkedIn functions still remain not covered by those bots. That's why I need to access accounts manually via web browsers VERY OFTEN. For this purpose I use a Multi Account Tool* (http://a Multi Account Tool*.com , I am taking part in development of this tool). a Multi Account Tool* is essential, otherwise you will get locked out of accounts every now and then. Trust words of someone who has lost tens and hundreds of LinkedIn accounts.

    2. SERVICES

    a) LinkedIn related services (connections, followers, shares, endorsements, recommendations etc)
    b) LinkedIn automation software offers
    c) LinkedIn premium services, which I will be calling "profile marketing" herein after.
    d) LinkedIn lead generation services
    e) Promoting/selling a Multi Account Tool* on LinkedIn
    f) Marketing other businesses' products and services
    g) Clickbank affiliate offers
    h) Other affiliate offers (e.g. jobs cpa)

    3. FUNNELS

Because LinkedIn is certainly not happy about some of the services listed above (Don't doubt, I asked LinkedIn Enforcement Team), I will need different sales funnels for different services. In short, I am not going to promote shady things like fake followers on my real profile :)

    4. STRATEGY

The main idea of having multiple interconnected sales funnels is to squeeze every single cent out of leads. The mere fact that someone is a LinkedIn user already puts him/her in a certain marketable audience. Those among LinkedIn users having premium subscription are even more specific audience. Et cetra ad astra. My goal is to create an automated sustainable system, which would go through large amount of data and move leads through sales funnels.

Besides everything you can see from sales funnels, I will promote my main account to make it "an internet marketing authority". This will involve making some posts and promoting them by reposting via fake accounts. I could make money without it (right now my LinkedIn profile has less than 150 connections) but I have greater goals in mind, so why not start moving towards them now.

    5. GOAL

I don't like tying goals up with lead sources. Instead, I have separate financial goals for each product I sell. Right now planned total profit for this year is around ?100'000. If I manage to get there, actual business valuation should be higher. Somewhere later in this journey I will explain how to build sellable businesses that could work without you.

    FAQs

Can I PM you with questions?
    No

Can I add you on skype?
    No

    Can we JV?
    No

Can you show me your profiles/landings/...?
    Fuck no

Why should I read this stupid thread?
    Press Ctrl+W now

It's impossible to do XYZ on LinkedIn.
Go tell that to your mom.

Do you do everything by yourself?
Nope, I have a team and outsource like crazy.

Besides that, I am happy to answer your questions but I reserve the right to give a hint instead of spoon feeding.

Here I wanted to add a joke, so check out how I tried to market AccPimp (former name of a Multi Account Tool*) on LinkedIn.

This guy took it to heart:

This answer made me crack up:

The last one is not from Linkedin but funny nevertheless:

That pretty much sums it up.

Mod Edit - 06/09/17 I Know SEO - * the OP mentions a tool they own, this is advertising outside of the marketplace which is against the rules but as the content is very good I've removed the name of the tool and replaced it with a generic description of what it does.

Sent a message to 800 people to test a template.

88 clicks to website, CTR 11%
3 leads in total of which 1 sale worth $39

Still waiting for results bc weekends are very inactive on LinkedIn.

    Next step options:
    1. Keep it as it is, just unfriend complainers and continue messaging
    2. Publish an article "why you need XYZ service" (where XYZ is the service I am offering) to facilitate more sales, measure difference
    3. Offer a freebie (possibly with viral spread). Sub-option 1: to get more connections/leads, sub-option 2: to drive traffic to the sale page

    Here are some funny responses:

Sunday evening spent fine tuning Fiverr. Figured out a lot about Fiverr's search engine. Actually, it is easy to manipulate, which is good for me. I managed to rank a few gigs #1 by relevance in just a couple days.

I need around 600 leads from fiverr per month. It would be too risky to collect them all on a single account, so I create multiple accounts, each from a different country. I manage accounts quickly with MultiLoginApp (http://multiloginapp.com) and even can have them open at the same time in separate browser windows. This is very handy when you need to communicate between own accounts or copy-paste something quickly.

This is some serious stuff, you have planned out everything, no need to wish you good luck.
Not something I could pull off, but maybe I will start linkedin account just for fun to see what can I do.

    Plan for this week:

    LinkedIn:
    14.03 mon - prepare stuff
    15.03 tue - send 1,6k msgs
    16.03 wed - send 1,6k msgs
    17.03 thur - send 1,6k msgs
    18.03 fri - send 1,6k msgs
    21.03 mon - evaluate results

I will be using 4 templates:
    a) Basic + bonus code
    b) Basic + bonus code on request
    c) Basic + limited time "service launch" promotion
    d) Basic + limited time "celebrating X happy customers" promotion

To not get lost in this mess, I protocol every test run in Redmine wiki in the following format:
    1. Idea / hypothesis
    2. Implementation plan
    3. How it actually went
    4. Results
    5. Conclusions and ideas for further tests

    UpWork:

Created filters in job search and also built an instruction for assistant to filter out suitable job offers for me. At this moment I will be answering them by myself with intention to build some answer templates and train an assistant to do this part later for me.

    Fiverr:

ordering fake reviews to add some social proof to gigs that already rank well.

    AdWords:

added one of landings I use for LinkedIn campaigns into Adwords just to test things out, namely how much "paid conversion" would cost. So far got one sale worth $20, spent around $4 on ads. Let's see how this turns out

    Fiverr

Templates almost ready, tomorrow inserting them into Fiverr and training an assistant to handle LinkedIn related orders.

I use LI to sell leads to certain business owners. :) Doing great so far.

We don't get enough LI journeys. Last one I saw was IB's. Subscribed. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

    Last update for today:

Fixed glitchy ranking on fiverr in one account, so now I have two accounts with well ranked gigs. Hope Fiverr won't delete them too quick haha. Now Fiverr lead generation channel is ready but I will continue developing additonal Fiverr accounts, so when some gets either deleted or restricted, I will have a backup plan.

damn dude that's an awesome ROI. The sample is too small to judge but still . How much is your CPC , and are you selling a product/service or using CPA . Sorry if you already mentioned it , I read the thread i must've missed it

I don't care about CPC now, max bid is $1.00 and average $0.50.
Data sample is indeed small, it's just the very first result.
I will be adding more keywords and optimizing them later. Don't really view AdWords as the main traffic source.

I offer my own service. Everything related to affiliate links is hard to pull off in AdWords

    LinkedIn:
Started sending messages from 4 accounts, each account sending different template.
Tomorrow will be getting first data.

    Fiverr

got first orders on new gigs

    Upwork:
checked what projects an assistant filtered out for me, dismissed around half of them. Explained to an assistant how to better filter job offers. Sending proposals to remaining ones (around 10).

Scraped 1000 targeted leads with Linkedin Dominator.
For some reason the output was gibberish. Re-scraping hasn't helped. Many e-mails missing, almost all phones missing, some weird codes in excel table, some cells joined randomly and the data was royally messed up. The worst thing: names have lost some characters, so merging good data with bad data didn't seem to be possible.

That wasn't good. Or even like this: THAT WAS FUCKING AWFUL. Because I should have sent those leads to a client a few hours ago.

Forunately, my colleagues are AWESOME developers who learned maths in school while I was drinking beer in the hood. They made a script that utilized Levenshtein distance formula to compare "broken" names with names from tables exported directly from linkedin and merged appropriate cells of matching records.

The result: lead generation result table of a good quality with just a few defects.

(I am not going to tell you how they cursed LinkedIn Dominator for losing hours of work and having to work after midnight)

    UPDATE:

As my colleague who's managing Linkedin campaigns is on a sick leave, I can't get some data (don't manage bots by myself). So all data I have now is from Google Analytics and landings:

    LinkedIn campaigns:

    a) Basic + bonus code 43 clicks, 1 conversion, CTR (approximation) 11,9%
    b) Basic + bonus code on request 35 clicks, 2 conversions, CTR (approximation) 9,7%
    c) Basic + limited time "service launch" promotion 30 clicks, 1 conversion, CTR (approximation) 8,3%
    d) Basic + limited time "celebrating X happy customers" promotion 22 clicks, 1 conversion, CTR (approximation) 6,1%

    AdWords campaign:

    Spent: €11,41
    Conversions: 5

    Now there are two problems:

    1. I have got a sale worth $39 but don't know where it came from. Probably need to wait for GA update. But I have a feeling that an event on "checkout" button hadn't triggered or is not working at all. My colleague put it there today, may be some bug in it
Other strange thing about the sale is that I offer 20%-50% discounts for all products in EVERY campaign. This is already SECOND sale where buyer ignores discount offer. But at least I know that this came from either AdWords, template A or template B (bc C and D have "inbuilt" discount, no need to apply coupon)

    2. I track "buy" button click (soft conversion) and also "checkout" button click (hard conversion). In the middle of the day today I noticed that there was total 27 soft conversions and only 4 hard ones, from which 1 resulted in a payment cancelled in the process of payment. So this totals 3 / 27 = 11% effectiveness of checkout process, which fucking sucks.

    What to do about it:
    a) Today I removed cart from the process. So now users are directed straight to checkout page
    b) I use some WooCommerce template. Don't know much about it but colleague developer said that reworking it is pain in the ass. To be honest, it sucks big time and I think the problem with users dropping mid-checkout might be in it.

Also I noticed that 3 users who bought the service, actually bought the most expensive package. This could be due to the following reasons:
    a) smaller packages are insufficient in terms of volume of service provided to a buyer
    b) biggest package is not expensive enough

Ideally most sales should come from middle package (if there are three in total). However, right now I don't want to touch volumes and pricing as #1 priority at this phase is to figure out why people drop mid-checkout.

    Fiverr update:
My assistant delayed review exchange, so Fiverr profiles are not selling yet (just a couple random orders). But she promised to catch up tomorrow

I just realized that my best customers for LinkedIn services are all BLACK.

They are not only REALLY HAPPY about results, they also buy ALL OF MY SERVICES.

And as if that wasn't enough, they either leave a tip or ask WHAT ELSE CAN THEY BUY.

I hate fucking facebook, linkedin and adwords, why don't they have targeting by skin color? I would be a millionaire in no time.
