Hey,

I was wondering, how these film youtube channels are allowed to use movie clips with adsense without copyright restrictions? Do they have to get approval from youtube? How does it work?

If it's transformative, then you can use movie clips etc under the fail use policy. So for example if you're doing a history of a movie character, you can use different clips from that movie with a voiceover etc.

I ve seen channels just uploading movie clips but with a huge description about claiming they dont own the content, bla bla bla. They monetize the videos too, so i am wondering how it works exactly

Just because there are adverts on the video, it doesn't necessarily mean that the uploader is monetizing that video. It has most likely been claimed by the company who owns the rights to that movie and all the revenue goes to them.

I thought about that too, but on the other hand, some of these don't actually sell anything else, so if what you said would apply in every of them, wouldn't they just stopped growing the channel?

They may just be doing it for fun. Not everyone is a marketer :)

they don't monetize those videos, studio does..

you can make some money by putting affiliate/cpa links, driving traffic to your websites or promoting other channels but sooner or later your channel will be taken down under spam, scam or deceptive practices.

only way to keep these channels safe and make money from them by joining a mcn which has access to youtube cms, that way you can whitelist your channels.

They may be getting claimed or not who knows. Maybe they just growing account to get the youtube play button lol

Some creators have ways of bypassing copyright claims on YouTube, but they don't share the methods. For the monetization, it doesn't have to be through Adsense directly.
