I recently installed both Dolphin and Undectectable browser free version from the official sales page on the misc section.

After that, my PC started misbehaving closing off chrome when I open it.
That was when I knew a virus must have got in so I tried to open some documents I was working the previous day, only to discover that all my files have been encrypted to .maos extension.

So my guess one of the 2 browser has some backdoor virus in it.

Because I was pretty sure that I haven't installed any app for a long time.

It was just the both of them which I did just yesterday.

Is there any hope of getting back my encrypted files?

For some reasons my system files are not encrypted yet. Maybe because I quickly uninstalled both files after I started to see some signs of malfunction.

They said I should pay 700$ to get my files back.
