FileIce under DDOS attack!

when i enter then showing this site under maintenance please try again few hour shortly. LUL re LUL

when I was work for ptc, ddos attack means not paid or scam. always.
not sure for this.
DDoS can happen to anyone is hated.

PPD sites are hated enough for their surveys etc...
Sharecash has been attacked many times on that sense and they kept paying.

Fail to see why Fileice should scam us.

They still seem to be down.
It's now almost 3 days.
Start getting worried for them!

It is being sorted now. They were attacked by Anonymous or in this case - Wikiboat. They are down because the DDoS'er gained access to their main IP address before they could implement their DDoS protection. This caused more problems for them so they had to change servers, which in turn changes their IP address. As they were rebooting the servers, one of the guys that works at the hosting company required a disk check so now it it scanning through several TB's of data. It should be back up later today or at the latest tomorrow!

Thanks for the update.
Always forgot to join their forum so I can't read these info and I can't register now that they are down.

Once you sign up, you automatically join the forum. You cannot join the forum otherwise!

It should be back up today. The admin should be online in around 3 - 4 hours at the most and everything should be up and running again!

His post was a lot less "flooding" than most of the posts I've seen here. As a matter of fact, you just telling him to go to Google is a lot more flood-like than his original post.

Although off topic once again, but IMHO questions that begin with "what/who" belong to Google. Questions that begin with "how/where/why" is a forum prerogative.

Each time I clicked on Forums, it asked to choose a password for it.
Which I have never done.
So I assume it won't work for me.

Anyway.. To answer his question.. A DDOS (distributed denial of service) is when a massive number of people or IP requests go to a website in an attempt to bring it down. Usually these "hits" (which are more often than not fake) request a packet from the server over and over and over again in order to flood it's internet connection, which in method, cuts the website off from actual requests from actual people.

There's a term out there called "slashdotted" which is actually kind of funny.. Since /. is such a popular news website, usually when they link to an article on another website, the sheer amount of hits the website receives causes it to go down, which in theory is just like a DDOS attack. So many people trying to access the website that it gets overloaded and can't handle all of the requests. This is pretty much like a DDOS attack. When a program/script overloads a website's internet tubs and causes it to go down and not be able to send legitimate requests to legitimate visitors.
very nice..good explantion bro..

I really hope they will be back till end of the month..anyway can anyone suggest me some ppd site till they are down some good ppd site similar to fileice?

So FileIce is like Sharecash and other PPD sites then? I'm asking since they're down and I can't check.

Anyone else notice a drop in serps with sites that had links to fileice?
I dropped to >100 in the serps removed the links and look to be bouncing back, so annoying!

Yes.

@cecle
They are down or having issues since 3 days now.
Enough for Google to penalize dead links.

However, the weekend before this one, Fileice was down for some hours.
Not sure if that was a first DDoS attack attempt.
If so, they must have undervalued the thing.

Apparently the MySQL database was damaged when they were transfering servers, that is why the disk check took around 14 hours. One of the admins is working on fixing this now to try and get the site back up. No ETA on that though.

Everything that could have gone wrong seems to have gone wrong!

If they are doing all possible to be back online, I'm fine with it.

I was recently accepted to fileice and I'm looking forward to getting to work. Hopefully, this drop in service will not last long.

Fortunately, the forum is up, I can read a few posts in the mean time...
