Spam registrations... I was searching for a solution to deal with this problem. I have tried a lot of plugins to fight spam and I'd have the following findings.

• Akismet: very limited to spam comments only. Does not include spam registrations.
• WP Spam Fighter: very limited and outdated plugin + honeypots database.
• ReCaptcha invisible captcha: in beta stage, I have been testing this plugin extensively. Plugin requires too much time to learn the website behaviour. I succeeded to register with a few botted accounts to my website.

I stick to CleanTalk. A very nifty api tool that's able to check every form action on the WP website; in one week, I had 129 spam registrations blocked by this plugin and after checking the logs of this plugin, all registrations had no false positives.

Just my 2 cents.
