I have seen many websites which have fewer backlinks and massive organic traffic. can anyone tell me how this happens and how to do it if a fresher wants to do this, please help?

The quality of the content matters here. Hidden backlinks may exist as @mmubeen8 said. Use some unpopular SEO tool to check their backlink profile & analyze the backlinks' quality.

Targeting keyword with low difficulty and great On-page optimization. I have seen sites with a little backlink generating 100k-400k monthly visits. Also site age is a great factor.
