I currently run a dropshipping store with a blog tied in with the business but on a different domain. I'm looking into using a pbn to help me rank better... Obviously. I'm currently totally lost in how a pbn works, heres a few questions I've got, thanks.

1: How should a pbn site be set up? Like how much content should I have on it (if that matters) and how authoritative should the domain be?

2: Would it be a better idea to direct links towards my current white hat blog then direct links from there to my money site instead of using the pbn's directly to my money?

3: Do the pbn's have to be ranking in order for them to be useful, or is it all about the domain's authority?

Edit: Do the domains have to be in my niche?

thanks!

You need a good amount of content to start out with and you need to update posts consistently for a while. The website doesn't need to rank to be useful but you're going to need some of them to rank to get the results you want. Yes I would recommend linking to something else before the money site, you don't want to risk your main site do you? You're gonna have to link build these pbns with quality as you have built your money site with.

1. The better it will look, the bigger your chance of it lasting longer. Approach it as if you were building a money site, with proper onsite SEO. That being said, to make it worth your time, go after as strong domain as possible.

2. No, waste of resources. These links are made for money sites, not as tier 2.

3. Not necessarilly, but it's a very decent bonus if they rank for some of your longtail keywords.

Web 2.0s are a poor man PBNs (they are not PBNs, but you get the idea) that barely do anything. So don't bother with that.
