Feeling very overwhelmed haha

Hey Everyone

So I've been on the site for a about a week right now. I'm interested in learning more about SEO and Marketing but I'm having trouble figuring out where to start. All the guides im reading involve other things and those other things involve other things and its pretty overwhelming haha. I have gone through probably 20 - 30 threads talking about different things in SEO and I have almost no idea what they are talking about.

Anyway, does anyone have any topics that I should start with? I know a little bit about links, keywords, the long tail and citations. Not really sure how they all work with eachother yet haha.

haha I know I know. Just all this talk of backlinks, CPA, PPC. It all makes like no sense to me.

At first prefer any one thing and then go deeply, for example if you want to know about seo, then start with
keyword research
On-site optimization such as content, keyword density, tags, do-follow, no-follow, cannonical, internal linking..etc
Off-site optimization such as linkbuilding techniques, platforms, anchor text distribution, linking domains authority, etc..

It's ok to feel overwhelmed, after some time you should start to see the big picture, recognize separate problems and parts. This is a typical first stage of studying anything new, don't give up and keep reading

I am familiar with seomoz. I've read the beginners guide before so I'm not super out of the loop lol. I'm not familiar with most of the stuff alternatesword posted. I'll start reading about all that stuff. Thanks again everyone. Much appreciated
