    Hey,

I have a few questions, maybe someone can answer without taking too much of your time.

I am confused about "Web 2.0", "Social Bookmarking", and "Article Submission"

Are web 2.0 properties (like Squidoo) considered social bookmarking sites? Or is it Digg that is a social bookmarking site?

Also, would it be best to set up backlinks in this fashion:

    web2.0s >> articles >> money site

    or

    articles >> web2.0s >> money site

I know I feel stupid, just trying to wrap my head around all this. Is there a good illustration or thread that just shows the best way, with arrows or something, that would be useful?

you should search for 'linkwheels' here and on google. That will give you a very good idea of what you need. like the way you need with arrows etc.

A lot of Web 2.0 sites are like properties that you can claim a spot and set up a page to call your own and share your interests or hobbies.

Most bookmarking sites are a place that you can create a profile and save your bookmarks and favorite places you visit online. This way, if I am at a hotel in another town, using a friend's laptop, I can log into this site and have all my favorites...no need to remember the addresses.

This is what they are generally meant for, search and read this forum for fantastic ideas on how to really make use of these.

Anybody, please correct me or clarify if I am off the mark.

But it is easiest just to call them all 'link sources' .. there, problem solved.:boxing:

    Home Page:
web 2.0 means any site with user-generated content.

a web 2.0 property is a site where you can upload your own articles and customize most of the page layout. (ex: blogger, squidoo). the article itself has links which go to your money site.

a web 2.0 social bookmarking site is one where you can upload links only, not an entire web page like with web 2.0 properties. (ex: digg, reddit)

so a basic linking structure, like a linkwheel, is when you have a central money site, with multiple web2.0 properties linking to it, and also linking to other web2.0 properties that you own. (it's called a wheel because a typical diagram has the money at the center with multiple 2.0 properties arranged in a circle around it.)

you would then spam the crap out of multiple web2.0 social bookmarking sites, linking them to the articles which are stored on your web2.0 properties. the properties serve as a buffer so the spam links on the bookmarking sites aren't linked directly to your money site.

so the typical visitor path is:
web2.0 social bookmarking site with link to article -> web2.0 property with article itself -> money site
ex: digg -> blogger -> clickbank
