So I hit on another technique recently and I figure, why not be generous and share it with the BHW crowd. I'm also more than a little drunk tonight.
Ok basically, so we find this technique DOMINATING a few SERPS and we dig in and see how it works for ourselves. It is nothing too far fetched but it makes use of specific advantages of web 2.0 sites. Some of you might know I like using Tripods with the 301 technique, well this guy/girl we found is KILLING IT with web 2.0s.
So to break it down into simple terms and to cut to chase(I hate it when people make these threads and drag it on)....
The advantages of using a web 2.0 as a moneysite is that you effectively cut out four things;
Whenever Google penalizes a website, there is a lead time, it takes a good two weeks to two months for a penalty to follow through on a very blackhat site(manual penalties excluded of course). Using this technique the marketer can pump out web 2.0 moneysites FASTER than Google can penalize them and by the rules of probability, if you're pumping these in vast numbers then some of them will stick(as is the faults of Google's algorithm, the ranking lottery).
So we find this person ranking for a product keyword, a fairly lucrative keyword and the product sells for about $100 per sale. Its not an insurance or lead based sale, its a physical product in an ecommerce store. Anyway, the top 10 results are ALL web 2.0s, even onto the second page they're all web 2.0s absolutely smothering the top 20 of the niche. I commend the person who did this as they chose a well paying niche with low competition because it is a fashionable product with new models coming out each year and they totally killed it by taking risks and taking action.
Ok so the nuts and bolts of the technique come down to this. The marketer would only pick web 2.0s which allowed HTML/Iframes. This is extremely important. What they were doing is consistently pumping out web 2.0s and using SAPE/Blog networks to power each web 2.0, but less than 500 referring domains for each web 2.0 and getting them to rank, then when they get a winner(some will likely fail to rank) they will insert an Iframe wich effectively cloaks the content on the page. The Iframe contains the affiliate store. I'm not sure if they created the ecommerce store themselves because each Iframe was different or if they inserted their aff network store directly into the site and signed up to multiple networks for the same product. But the result was a very specific cloaking technique in which they used web 2.0s to rank extremely well with SAPE, then used an Iframe to hijack the web 2.0 and get users to treat the site like an actual store, mitigating the need for any click-throughs.
Its as if you took a real ecommerce store and hosted it on multiple web 2.0s which you can rank with SAPE without risking the domain or problems. If one web 2.0 fails, no problem! Place the Iframe on one of the others!
This person is KILLING IT right now, the top 20 is all of their sites and Google can't penalize fast enough to catch up.
The trick is to pick niches that Google's manual raters are not watching, and that means fashionable products
