Feel like I'm wasting my time. (Article writing)

I have been up all night, doing grammar exercises, researching random topics and have been writing articles since last night. I wrote a 700 word article about Caffeine addiction and I researched the topic really well, and added a lot of detail to the article. Now, as I am going over the rough draft here, I feel like I have wasted my time writing this article. The more I read it, it seems as if I did not use enough big professional words. I feel like it is too simple and average, though it is detailed. Is it normal to have this obsession when you're just starting out as a article writer? I want every word and sentence to be professionally put. However, I did use a lot of professional words and avoided repeating words. However, I just still feel like its not good enough and that I wasted my time!

The only way to achieve success is by commiting failures; no successful person will ever tell you "the road is easy boy".
What you have done right there is of extreme importance for you and your future work. Just by realizing that you missed out on "professional keywords" it will give you the chance to apply this the next time you write an article.

After a while, whenever you have been writting a ton of articles, you will be able to deliver high quality and to engage people in a better manner.

Keep it up and don't give up
 
As long as the article reads and flows well, you are fine! Don't over analyse the article because if you did research it well it must be pretty good :)
 
Unfortunately the average reading level of an adult in the US is 5th grade. Goo** know this and actually will rank a site more "advanced" if it has big words. Not really what you may want. You can specify this in your browser somewhere too. .. Point is take a lesson, use whatever you learned on the NEXT one. Oh and maybe get a voice to text program and read your great article back into your machine a bunch of times.
 
Practice makes a man perfect. This saying suits content writing perfectly because the more you write, the better you will get. U reminded me of my journey as a content writer few years back. I desperately needed money to better my situation. I used to write day and night. Write for free in the beginning for several dp members. In return, I only asked them to correct my mistakes. So, initially things would be tough but with perseverance and practice, you will get there. It will take more than one article. Perhaps, hundreds of them before you really feel like charging more for your work. There is no shortcut...Just keep writing and trust me, you will AUTOMATICALLY become a better writer.

Why don't you post an article of yours in the thread and we can give you an honest and helpful critique. Obviously use an article that you don't need to use on your site and maybe select a reasonably short one.

There are a lot of us here who write so you could get some very useful pointers.

I for one assure you I will only give constructive criticism.

Thought about posting some of the article, I just was afraid of getting banned for some reason. lol. But I will probably do so, later today! Thanks.
 
It's better to use words that are short, common, and easy to understand. People on the internet have different levels of reading skills so stay on the safer side, you need to make it really simple without losing the value of it.
 
This is the stuff you should be PAYING SOMEONE TO DO FOR YOU!
 
Writing is something that takes plenty of time to perfect.

Don't equate big words with good writing; that's absolute shite. Read Hemingway or Thoreau, people admire these writers BECAUSE their writing is so simple and to the point. If you want quality articles write a 1000 word draft and cut it down to 500 words. Eliminate all the useless fluff like, "In my opinion" or "what's funny is". Of course it's your opinion, you are effing writing it. If it's funny, it's funny, you shouldn't need to announce it. I think you get the idea. We use too many useless words and phrases in conversational English. Get rid of them.

Your job is to make your articles extremely simple to keep the readers attention and also provide useful information. Don't use big words for the sake of big words; it is likely the worst writing decision you could make.

Also, always write in the active not the passive.

Do this and you will be gewd writar

You don't need to have long professional words to write a good article.

The key point you need to take away is user readability and engagement. If you have this perfected your articles will be good quality. Try to think of what your target audience is when writing the article and adjust your writing as needed. You'll be sure to succeed.
