I emailed some leads i gathered and was talking with one prospect via email
about a new website though he changed to subject straight to getting him new
clients for his Construction company. Here is the email:

"I am on an island in the Caribbean.....only 30k people......so not much chance for local optimization..... however we get about 2000+ tourists a week of which maybe only 1% decide to build homes, and about 1% of them ever achieve it.
So all us in construction fight over the relatively small possible market available... perhaps 20 a year...however I only need 2 or three....

A new flash website is of little use unless I can get to the people that are actually gonna build, who range from money launderers, to single visit people that decide this is a great place to have a home.

I am already advertising in two magazines that are given to tourists on their flight..... and I have a great product.....

So tell me how you could make a mediocre business into something that's gonna pay your fees?"

My plan and idea was to target people in USA with Facebook Ads and in other countries and hope to
get in front of people who may be planning a trip to the Caribbean and those who
may be interested in building a home out there.

Of course i really want to help him out so i want to waive my fees until we can
see some results and hopefully some new Construction jobs from my marketing efforts.
Any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated. I really want to make this a successful
project for this potential client.

Cheers

In my opinion, the worst thing you can ever do in starting a business relationship with a client or potential client is to NOT get paid for your time. I know because I have done it, and you establish a precedent that will haunt you. He doesn't work for free, you don't either.

Forget the FB & internet marketing for now, and consider taking it offline by making calls and finding the right people on the island that will refer people to him when they need a home. Bankers, Real estate agents, and service providers related to the industry. REAL people in that situation might make the difference, and real leads and relationships provide real referrals. REMEMBER...he did tell you what he wanted...clients, so get them however you can.

I can help you out with this, but you need more information for this contact. Exactly which island does he live on? That narrows your results even better, then do a small amount of research on the island and google his competitors. Find out what they do and dont offer. I believe InnovativeSEO is right ON the money, in this situation referrals will get much faster results. Its just unfortunate the owner doesnt want to get out there and make something of his company. Good Luck
