A while ago I needed a list of public proxy servers for a research project. BHW was a great resource for proxy tools and lists, but I was not that happy with the tools I found.

I therefore decided to make my own open source proxy scraper + proxy checker.

The tool, "ProxyMaid" scan a list of know online sources for proxies and retest them. It will then output the result to a file or as a report. This way you can get an continues list of proxies that works from your connection.

If anyone here would like to test this out that would be great. You can download it from hxxp://www.proxymaid.com/

Will the software also installs some keyloggers and adwares or just the proxy scraper. Its open source, right? Send me the link to its code. Thanks

That is a good point puneetas3. Downloading software from an unknown source can be dangerous. When I did my research project I had to rent a virtual server to run some of the tools I downloaded because I could not take the risk on running unsigned software from unknown sources on my local pc.

Installing ProxyMaid will install just the proxy scraper, noting else. The source code is available on https://github.com/runarbu/ProxyMaid . As an extra security measure the software is also digitally signed, so you can verify who made it.

also offering downloads on bhw must be accompanied by virus total read out
