Feedback on my logo ideas

My first logo attempts on a blog that features some Sci-Fi stuff. The versions are supposed to blend idea, innovation and obviously brain and galaxy. How bad is it? Does it tell you that is has something to do with modern Sci-Fi and innovations or they need more work?:D Which one do you like more?

Good start, but it looks kind of 'dull' imo.. as in boring.. and not really attracting my interest but that's just me.

Edit: Oh, didn't read your text at first either didn't have a clue that it had to do with sci-fi... I just saw a deformed brain in it :P.

Looks like two images put together. Colors on the right and left side should be the same in my opinion :P
 
I think it looks decent but if you're serious about the site then it doesn't look professional enough in my honest opinion. As Nitros said, it looks like two images put together and you'de probably be better off using a ready made template and go from there.
 
icon has a professional impact, just enhance what you have now and work with the font's/colors used and maybe add some sort of speech bubbles in there.

Idea is good...but execution is very bad. Logo looks like it was designed in 1999-2000.
Tips-
1.Make the logo DYNAMIC in looks.
2.If you are aiming to be a pro logo designer, learn "Golden Ratio" concept..it makes even ordinary logo look a LOT better.
3.Instead of solid color,try a "pinch" of gradient. Darker blue at the bottom,lighter blue at the top or try any other variation.
4.Bring some "flow" in design,the logo looks like 2 different images pasted together.

Source-I'm a pro logo designer and designed over 250 logos ;)

On the first 2 options or on my last one from today? Based on my site's design I really prefer 1 color logo (2, including the text, most).
 
using 2 colors will be more easy to see what is your website just looking for the logo

I agree with you.
since this is first design I can say its good. when you designing a logo go for few variation and choose the best one. The hardest thing is you have to think on buyers mind. So the best thing is understand a your customer. As a practice I ask my customers to contact me before placing the order and have 5 min chat. obviously if you are on something like fiverr that's not possible.

Yes I forgot to mention this....always make several variations of your logo..with some very minor changes in colors, font positions etc.
 
I didn't speak for my self I speak for my mentor back then, he taught me lots of things when doing a design or making a brand name that standout among the rest and not just copied by any source."always remember the RULE OF THIRDS" limit your design with 3colors, 3fonts, 3effects Its very important to give your client a 3 variations of logo concept, (make a 3D type logo, 2.0 style logo, and the very simple logo-plain/solid color) it will help you to determine what kind of logo type your client was looking for. As a designer you can have your own research to make a unique idea/concept for your client by not asking them too much questions.

Thanks for the valuable tips, guys. Since time is a factor the color scheme and my header size is small, I decided to put my latest version for a logo. The idea behind it does not have such a potential as the first versions, but makes it somewhat easier to recognize the topic and easier to accept by the audience.

Definitely like the last logo posted.

I did like the "idea" of the first logo, but it looked too amateurish.
