Feedback/ constructive criticism needed for my site

I have this site that specializes in security systems and I was wondering if any credible people on here could just take a look at this site and recommend some changes to make the site ready for me to do some SEO on it.

Personally, when I go to this site I don't feel like its marketing what its supposed to. Any opinions about what I should do to make it more appealing?

I think it looks a bit out-dated and needs an overhaul.

I find the text a bit dull, in a standard font in black and the colours in general just unappealing. Why not try put something nice and clean together in a web2.0 style - I would have thought Joomla would be perfect for you here

I may not be credible, but I do have a few suggestions.

If I was looking for a company like yours, I would want the home page to tell me about the company. 'We have been in business...founded in 2005.....CEO Joe Blow has 23 years in the security....past clients... We can service all your security needs. Then going into a small snippet about the different services you provide.

Right now, it seems like you list that the company does a, b, c, d, e, f, but you don't build up any trust for your company. If I didn't know anything about a company I was looking to protect me or my home, I would want to have at least some inital trust in them.

I like the layout of the website though. Looks professional. Although the left hand menu should be laid out better. Maybe more spread out. I don't like that it only underlines when the mouse hovers over the link. I noticed some links that didn't go to the proper page when clicked like the links at the bottom of the 'links and resources' page.

My two cents anyway.

Looks are important for selling.

It looks alright...However when you click on a link at the top then scroll over one of your links in the body an odd green colored bar blocks everything out. Other than that not bad.
