Hi,

Have any of you tried to improve your SEO using a 301 redirection? Let me explain this using an example (the domains used here are not my real case):

Imagine I have a business called Animal-Food.com. Then, I acquire another business that is closely related to mine: Dog-Food.com.

I have no use for Dog-Food.com, but it has excellent SEO. So, I set up a 301 redirect through my registrar to point DogFood.com to AnimalFood.com.

Does this strategy work? Thx

Edit: Also his this considered black or white hat ?

Yes, it works but not everyime.

There are lots of guides on the forum on how to use an expired. Same principle applies to buying and redirecting a domain for the purpose of it's link juice.
