Hey guys, I want to know how you all are doing featured images? I thought of getting Canva but I don't want to have a specific format for every featured image on my blog. My articles are in the same niche but they're all different topics so other than signing up for an expensive stock photo subscription, what are good alternatives? I have used free stock images, or stock images that I shouldn't have been using before (unlicensed). What are other good options?

I use canva to design images from scratch or to alter any existing images that I need to use for different articles. Does Google have any guidelines for Featured images?
 
Been using stencil for years now.
Canva has more options but it's just I am more used to stencil.
