Idk about you guys but I get too many people begging for work/help and I'm sure it's awful for those of you who post a lot more than I.

How about a feature that allows people to mute conversations so you don't have to get their annoying notifications?

Report them - simple.
Then you can use the ignore function if you choose.

Josh, you can leave a conversation and hit the "don't let me know there are any other responses" or whatever that says in your PMs or if it is a thread you can click the "unwatch thread" button on the top right to ignore any further posts in that thread.

Is that wha you were asking?

Or if you're worried about getting too many PM's on the back of posting a thread, you can always change your settings on your account privacy page here: https://www.blackhatworld.com/account/privacy

and limit people starting conversations with you to only the members you follow yourself:

I can understand where OP is coming from, if feels like lots of people constantly PM'ing for help (there aren't but when you are busy even 1 unsolicited PM can be annoying) it isn't only noob accounts.
Some people seem to be terrified to make a post or thread and feel more comfortable PM'ing users.
I always trying to help anybody if I can, but it can be f#cking exasperating when people are asking the simplest of questions where it is clear they have done zero research.
I try explaining that they would be better off starting a thread as they will get more responses but is seems some of them just don't want to potentially embarrass themselves.

I don't want to block people but it can be a frustrating issue.

Ok, I see your point. So - just to clarify, you want to be able to see the conversations but be able to turn off the red alert button on the top of the inbox? Or have a junk folder which you can sort through with PM's from people that you follow to go directly into your inbox?

Just to clarify - not promising that this is something we can do but I want to try work out what a good solution is and then we can look into whether it's something we can provide :)
