Fear of working? Need advice!

Thank you for all the answers. It makes me feel good inside to know that there are people here who take their time to support fellow members :) I especially liked the quotes that have been posted here, they are really good.

I have been "doing IM" for 2 years now and I have had some success, made 7k but the method kinda died out and all the new things I have tried I have quit halfway through because I did not see the results fast enough (even though I have earned a bit of money with every method I have tried thus far).

My biggest drawbacks are lack of belief and patience + fear of failure.

I'm gonna make this short!
Decide how you're going to make money
Just do whatever it is you decide on and nothing else
Make it work for you, don't give yourself an option, act like your life depended on it.

what you've already admitted, is that you are an expert. I find it to be really difficult, to spend so much time reading on this website, without learning a great deal of excellent information. The only problem, is that popular belief, that knowledge is power. Knowledge itself, isn't anything. Knowledge, by itself, is what we call, potential energy. It's not until you apply this knowledge, and put this energy to use, that it becomes power. You have the reference information. You have the tools. And yet, you have one thing that's standing in your way... That one thing, is you.

dude

its just self doubt taking over normal behaviours. You have found a way to succeed and the that daft part of people that holds us back it trying to stop you.

Go out and put the work in if you fail pick your self up learn.

one of my favourite quotes

"If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;

If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!"

Rudyard Kipling

You'll never fail if you don't try but on the converse side you'll never succeed either. Your call ace, inertia awaits you!

On the plus, I'm sure there is a least one chick in the world who loves inertia, you just have to find her. Then again, you better not, you most likely will fail at that as well.

I want to feel confident that what I do works so I could do the routine jobs but the fear of failure paralyzes me.

It is a normal feeling. It is a fact of life.
It has happened to me as well in the past.
Deep within me, I know I can do things better than others.
I have great plans, but with little confidence.
I realized that it was rooted from my fear of rejection.
But that fear is ALL in the mind! :-)

"Ain't nothin' to it but to do it"

You're excited and nervous OP, not afraid.

As strong as the feeling of "oh no, what if this doesn't work?!" is, the feeling of "oh my gosh, what if this does work?!" is equally as strong.

Also, you're now seeing how much work is involved in what we do. The path you're on isn't quite as easy as it seemed at first and you're wondering if you're doing something wrong because it feels like you're working instead of banking. Be honest with yourself and either study and practice and work, or spend time planning and practicing how you're going to score big from a genius idea.

What is true is this: if you do not go forward you will miss opportunities you didn't even know existed. You start with one idea, then you gain experience and it develops and matures, but then you get insight that you only received because of your experience and what you've learned. Now you have a new idea that may even be better than the original you started with, but may be completely different from the original, and you would have never been able to see that new idea and make the new plan without having had taken the first step.

edit: Note on nervousness : You know you're ready when you're nervous, then you feel ready and get enough confidence, which makes you nervous again. That's what it feels like. Nervousness is really being unprepared. When you're prepared but still feel nervous, that's adrenaline, and you're not going to get any more ready than you are when you feel that cycle of let's go/let's stay/let's go/let's stay/let's go/let's stay, and then you take the plunge one direction or the other.
