Fear is holding me back

Having fear is normal provided that your fear is reasonable. You will always have hurdles in front of you from the starting point in your journey/project to the end. Fear is one of them. For instance, back in 2007 I was fearful of getting sued from a project I was involved in. Now although that fear was reasonable, the likelihood of it happening was very slim. So I analyzed the situation and decided it was worth the risk to take as it had so much upside. The fear never really left during that project but I simply accepted it and pushed it aside while doing my thing.
Even if the project wouldn't have been a success, I addressed how I wanted to deal with my fears going forward and that launched me into doing pretty much every successful project I've had to date. Without testing the waters back in '07 I wouldn't have taking advantage of opportunities that presented themselves back in '08, '09, '10 etc... So look at trying to overcome your fear for not just this project, but how you'll handle the fear with future projects. If nothing else, keep your options open and don't just have one mindset of not "willing to risk it" etc...
Here's some food for thought. Back in the day I was killing it on CL. I offered a family member to run the project for me while I started another project. His cut would have been 50%. Sure, there was a risk but everything was in my name and the project was already months old. The only reason why I offered it to him was he started having major money problems. We talked about what needed to be done and that it only took about 4 hours a day to do. He went back and forth on wanting to and then passed on it. I respected his decision and didn't offer him work after that. He could have made a lot of money but missed his chance.
Point is, don't let fear get in your way of doing something. Balance the risks/rewards out and make an informed decision.
P.S. when I say "risk" I mean civil penalties, not criminal.
