Ideally you use both Facebook and Voluum.
Facebook does not provide much tracking data externally, other than really basic information - https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1016122818401732
Voluum is useful for providing you the data about the device, ISP etc as well as rotating offers/testing landing pages.

You don't need to use Voluum - you can just use FB's ad manager. It just is a little more labour intensive and you don't get the extra tracking data.
Voluum is way overpriced now. There are similar alternatives, e.g. Thrive's Cloud Tracker, for a fraction of the cost.

Facebook Pixel doesn't capture all stages of your funnel, so a tool like voluum is always recommended, but also very cost intensive. There are similar tools, you can check out trackingdesk, it has a lot of Templates for the biggest Affiliates Networks and they are way more affordable.

As I said, Voluum is a great tool but it's way overpriced now compared to alternatives. ThriveTracker and FunnelFlux are probably the two closest alternatives and they have benefits in their own right.
It also depends how you are setting up your campaigns as to what kind of tracking tool you should use.
