Hi guys,

We are really puzzeled with FB Ads.

Many contradictory infos, nothing clear on the FB side (Ads system clarification, process and algorithms clear explanation).

Same on the web, i only read 'blue is blue' or 'click on view X to view X' all infos are either pure tautology or very partial clues.

Damn, we just wanna sell with decent ROI and clear understanding about what we do !!!

Why should we 'season' one pixel while FB knows very well who buys and who don't ????

I mean, FB KNOWS its users more than its users even know themselves. They KNOW who are buyers in different niches, they know who are just 'tourists' clicking here and there but never buy, etc.......

So WHY by the hell should we built our own database (all people here speaking about warming up the pixel, seasoning the pixel and all this crap) by following very unclear and expensive process (create traffic, create view events, create add to cart event, create initaite checkout event, etc etc until sales....) while THE BUYERS DATABASE ALREDAY EXISTS ?!

For me they just add layer of complexity and mind-blurring crap to make money and make us waste time and money figuring out what's the hell is going on with their algorithms....

Any ideas or link to know EXACTLY HOW we should proceed would be welcomed.

Thanks

Facebook surely knows who buys and who don't but there are several factors involved. From the website to your social approach, you have to build your own portfolio. If you sell apples and others sell apples too, the difference in terms of potential client is hidden in how your website performs and how you instruct your pixel with initial traffic.

Little advice from my experience:
Do: Sell apples targeting apples lovers

Don't: Sell alternative apples targeting who loves the alternative.

Do: Have patience building your traffic, after that you'll be happy and the pixel will be awesome and not a "scam"

After that you'll be able to build your converting portfolio.

In few words: You have to build your own traffic, after that the pixel (building lookalikes and remarketing campaigns) and your skills will do the magic

Sorry for my bad english and good luck :)

Thank you for your help my friend !

Yes, well I guess I am targeting the right audience (people who like lingerie ;) the problem (there are others of course) is that i am VERY CONFUSED with the conversion event setting. Some guys say i should set the conversion event to the lowest event then wait for it to get 'green light range ................... 50-5000 events triggered' then jump next step (next conversion event), others say this setup is of no use, and i should set up conversion event 'puchase' if i wanna sell, whatever are the 'conversion' results....

Yesterday i launched a new campaign, reached 3.5K people, 220 clicks, 1 sale................................... CTR around 8% but sales are not that good...... Ad set conversion event = 'add payment info' >>> jut one conversion for that event....

The question is : should i get bakc to the 'add to cart' conversion event' (if i do so i will have, again, zero 'initiate checkout' so no way to retarget via emails.....) so that the Pixel can 'grab' some data, or what should i do ????

Thanks

I would spend budget in this way (exactly in this order)
1) targeted campaign for clicks on website (setting up purchase as conversion)
2) remarket to people who added something to cart
3) lookalike audience of 1% to speed up sells and feed pixels with right customers

When all is ok, think on how to scale

Depends on what you do and this is a matter of testing. Some engagement aimed campaigns bring more conversions than a conversion campaign.

Facebook knows a lot about their users, but they cant be sure if they will be interested purchasing in your business. Thats why each business got their pixel and unique data about their buyers, thats more efficient than just having a big database about "POSSIBLE" buyers.

Sounds like a Facebook marketing team answer, not like a statistician one.............
