FB interest links to your own domain

I've only seen this done a couple of times, but certain facebook interests link directly to some companies own domains, whereas most of the time, even with large companies, they link to a FB profile/page on the fb domain.

I don't want to out anyone and get banned, but the examples I've found seem to be only some service type interests that are linked to the external site, like for example a carpet cleaning company/service.

I'm not sure if theyre a community page,company page,fan page etc.

How is this done?
