FB Custom Audiences

Anyone get an account banned for using custom audiences? I have about 5 ads running with custom audiences currently. I'm wondering since I buy my audience list and not exactly sure if they are opt in if that's an issue? Is FB banning for too many custom audiences in ad campaigns?

No, this is how its done these days. Feels pretty gangster to see that low CPM while inundating an audience with your ads, huh? That's the new age of spam.

I've been using an app to scrape emails and phone numbers for businesses in one part of town and run campaigns to super small groups. I'm hitting all business owners/social media managers/etc.. so it's a productive way to use those old bits of information (phone & email) and get value out of them. The phone #s work best for niches that people use their cellphones as their business line (think contractors).

fb allows you to upload UID's just as it is so no you won't be banned. If you scrape a big list for hours on end using the program/software, then facebook algo bot might disable you from scraping for a 24 hour period. Besides, if facebook didn't have a custom audience section, then marketers would face shitty CTR and low CTR means less spending, etc, etc. You get the picture.
 
What was the reason fb banned you? Knowing this will help us answer you question better.
 
I didn't get banned. I am worried about being banned. My buddy who is doing facebook had 80 campaigns running with custom audiences and they were all disable because of the custom audiences. In facebook terms of service it states that you must have permission to use the custom audience list and that they cannot be gathered by a bot etc. etc. I guess also I am targeting names. That maybe the big no no

FB Ads team first sends you an email asking for the source of custom audience if you build over 10+ custom audience campaigns. If you ignore it, your ads account will be eventually disabled.

When they ask, simply send them to you a landing page on your website which should have a can-spam complaint newsletter software integration like mailchimp/aweber etc and say you have collected all data from here and its 100% legal and complaint with their TOS and you should be OK.

What if you tell them your a marketing firm and you buy the data? 10+ running at one time or 10+ overall?

Hey Guys-

I was just banned from FB advertising 2 nights ago. No idea why, can only assume it was because I was utilizing FB Graph Scraper3 and SLF.

I am very frustrated, obviously. I was also testing out the name niche, but only had 3 or 4 name campaigns running.

I see these guys making a killing with it right now. There is a tee page called A special Tee, that is doing this, and doing fantastic.

I did a scrape of 'names' and those custom audiences were made NON ACTIVE as it was targeting a name.

How is 'A Special Tee' doing it and getting away with it so successfully?

Any input is greatly appreciated.
 
Wow they seem to have amazing results, I wonder what there ROI is, probably also a lot is being spend on FB ads...
 
Just start all over again, once banned you cant do much about that account. chances of them opening it back is less then .0001%

That is my intention

By chance would you have an idea as to what the FB tracking protocol is?

Do I need a Socks5 proxy, new payment info, new account WITH active friends, etc etc..

Having worked on internet projects where my job was to outsmart the tricky user so to speak, I'm pretty sure Facebook is tracking anything they can and than match whatever they track to their database, and if there is a positive match, their system will show a red flag and they they will either continue to monitor you for more positive matches and than ban you, or ban you right away if they are confident that you are the same person! So in a nutshell, you should not give Facebook any hint whatsoever that you are the same person that was banned!

Here are the steps I plan on taking and suggest you do the same, and I'm confident that we will run FB ads again in no time!

1. Get a new credit card number. This can be done in a number of ways, you can either open a new bank account and get a new debit card, you can tell your current bank that you lost your current card and they will issue you a new one with a new number and expiration date on it, or you can simply get one of those re-loadable debit cards from GreenDot, etc. It would be a good idea if you could simply ask one of your friends to open an account on their name just for you to use for FB advertising, but that can be a hassle and it's always better to do everything in your own name obviously. Since Facebook doesn't ask you for your social security number, etc., they have no way of telling if you're the same person that was banned because you just might have the same name and last name so having the same name should not be a problem as long as Facebook doesn't have any other positive matches that will link you to your old account... oh and one more thing, before getting a new card, don't forget to change the billing address (ask your friends to use theirs or rent a P.O. Box although I'm not sure if P.O. Box addresses are accepted)

2. Open a new Facebook account from a different IP, but make sure that this IP address is based in the same city as your new billing address because this is probably one of the first things Facebook checks! Before creating a new account, obviously delete all the cookies, cache, etc., from your computer by using a program such as cccleaner as suggested by "toyo" and if you can, I would recommend formatting your hard drive and doing a fresh OS install.

Make sure that you will never login into your new account from your old IP address because that will be a virtual suicide.

3. Do NOT upload a picture or pictures of yourself on your new account because FB probably has face-matching software that runs all uploaded pics against their database of banned users.

4. Do NOT use the same images, copy, pages, links, etc., that you used in your old ads, because Facebook is most probably tracking all of this and if they see a positive match, they will know that it's you. Create everything from scratch.

5. Try to change your ad posting times, frequency, style, etc., because I wouldn't be surprised if Facebook has the software in place that track this as well...

6. Don't spend all of $50 on the first day, instead fool Facebook into thinking that you're a new advertiser who is just testing the system out little by little... spend $10 on the first day, $10 on the second, $15 on the third, etc., be patient. Think about it, if you're a new advertiser but start to aggressively push ads and promote offers, Facebook will know that something doesn't smell right because the majority of advertisers who never had experience with Facebook ads before will certainly want to take it very slow in the beginning... don't give Facebook a hint that you've done this before and know what you're doing!

7. Intentionally go to their help section and read their advertising guidelines, policies, etc, because I wouldn't be surprised if Facebook is tracking whether first-time ads users do this or not. If they do, you will certainly fool Facebook into thinking that you're truly a new advertiser because advertisers who've advertised on FB before will never visit those sections... also intentionally click on all the links, buttons, etc., within the FB ads manager, to make an impression that you are learning the system... again, I wouldn't be surprised if Facebook is tracking this because in their mind, something like this will go a long way in telling them if a person is a newbie or not...

8. All in all, behave like a completely different person (especially in the first few weeks), and don't give Facebook any hints whatsoever that you are the same person... on the contrary, show them that you've never used Facebook before, never used Facebook ads before, etc., you get the point!

If anybody from Facebook will be reading this - Hi, how are you?!

Let me know how it works out for you guys and I'm pretty sure that if you follow these steps + use a dose of common sense, you will be back advertising on Facebook in no time!
