Fb asking for id verification to continue posting on marketplace

If the ID matches your name and photo, you can try uploading it. Facebook usually checks identity, not location. But if your activity looks suspicious or outside normal patterns, it may still flag the account. If you're not sure, it might be safer to pause and switch to another verified account.

If your name matches the profile, you can try uploading the government ID, Facebook mainly checks identity, not exact location. But if you're worried about flagging your setup, it's safer to pause that account and rotate in a fresh one.

If the name and photo match your profile, upload the ID cuz Facebook mainly checks identity, not location.

Hi

i have a fb profile that is out of usa and for some reason i can post in usa. Today i posted like 6 ads and after a few hours later fb is asking me for id verification ie gov id
Now i have a government issue id that matches my profile but it is not about my location. So should i upload my govt id or just pause my marketplace activity and use other accounts

thanks
If you have information please verify that account the way FB requires, and that account will be much healthier if the verification is successful.

If your ID is real and matches the profile, you should upload it. Facebook will usually verify it within 1-3 days, after which the account will be reopened normally. In my opinion, running Marketplace across countries is risky, but it isn't a reason to block if you are transparent.

if name matches, send it, else park acc & switch.

upload it so you can continue posting. If you don't want to share, pause it and use another account. don't use your main account for this.

if you already have a government ID then no need to worry verify it. if your trade is healthy then there will be no risk

Hi there! I'd strongly recommend uploading your legitimate government ID that matches your profile name, even if the location doesn't match your current posting location. Facebook's verification system primarily checks name matching rather than geographic consistency.

Go to Settings → "Identity Confirmation" → upload clear photos of your government ID (front/back if required). Facebook often accepts valid IDs from users who've relocated or are traveling.

Using other accounts instead could trigger Facebook's duplicate account detection and result in all accounts being banned. It's much safer to verify with your real ID and potentially get restricted temporarily than risk permanent bans across multiple accounts.

If verification fails, you can appeal through Facebook Help Center with explanation about your situation.

How long have you been posting from your current location, and is the name on your government ID exactly the same as your Facebook profile name?
