Buddy no one can give you the correct answer as it depends on lots of factors.
What is the niche? Who is doing the ads? If you get a noob on AdWords and an expert doing Fb Ads, the results will gear towards Fb most likely if the niche is all right.
So what you should do, is check, where your competitors are spending their bucks in or, do split testing on your own.

It's similar to google of course. But i would still prefer google ads throughout facebook. I can explain what i mean if you want to.

I have used FB Ads for clients for Dropshipping and would say that it worked, but there is lot of testing of various audience interests, age, genders etc. FB ad may work or may not, depends upon the best product, targeted audience. However, the cost of conversion is sometimes high for some competitive niches.
