I tried this. It failed miserably. I ended up getting 0 conversions and paying an absolutely massive CPM.

OP this can work but I can't tell you exactly if you will make any money with this.
When it comes to advertising there are so many factors you need to look at. You need to target the right people obviously. But even this doesn't guarantee you anything. I suggest you do a research before you start a campaign on Facebook.

It pays $25 a sign up but does anyone sign up? What's the landing page like? Is there a demand for specifically the education you speak of.
Yeah give it a try - that way you will learn first hand knowledge - but I would at least get your own domain and cloak the affiliate link.
Do Facebook even allow direct links to affiliate offers in there ad program? A lot of providers don't - look at FBs official terms to check what they say is allowed on their network.
Reminds me of something the user who introcuded me to this forum years back taught me: he was running iframe scripts over AdultFriendFinder landing pages to turn them into "MillionaireFriendFinder" landing pages, cloaked domain... I'm sure he was stuffing but I'm literally not even sure if you're allowed to talk about that here.

depending on the niche, try to find a few subreddits and advertise there. it's easier for tests. if you get leads from reddit go bananas on fb but again, pay attention to your target audience.
I am 100% agree with him, Give it atleats a try, $25 sign up is not bad, after expenses $50-$100, you will come to know where you are going, so give it try, all the best

As others have stated, FB pixel is needed in order to track your conversions. Also you need to target your audience and set-up campaigns based on device type like Desktop, Mobile, Tablet. Keep those campaigns seperate. Some offer perform great with mobile but do horrible with desktop traffic, etc. Testing takes money and investment and profit won't come right away without otpimization first.

I definitely recommend using Facebook ads as your platform to gain credible traffic. Its all about how you target your audience with your landing page that will determine whether you are profitable in your chosen niche. Hope this helps.

Yes it is worth the money but you should utilize it in a proper way. If you use it in a correct way then you will able to make a right process.
