Hi folks, I'm doing a quick survey FOR SCIENCE.

Just a simple question, if you'd please:

What is your favorite social network (FB, PIN, TBLR, TWT, IG, SNAP, etc etc.) to diddle around with and why?

I mean this moreso within the context of leisure rather than IM, though I'm sure many of us have a hard time separating the two. :)

Thank you much in advance if you choose to help by replying!

I don't use any social media platform unless its for making money.

The closest thing would be twitch.tv, I watch a few streamers on there.

Reading your wife Reddit threads can be fun . Plenty of good stuff in there. I also frequent Reddit a lot hanging out in /r/personalfinance and /r/diy_ejuice

Reddit is the answer OP. You can get info about everything u are searching for.
For example last week I met a guy who said that he is working as a commercial diver, I wanted to find more about this profession and guess what ? I found a lot of AmAs and other discussions regarding commercial diving. Spent like 3 hours reading some crazy stuff.
If we talk about making money on social media: Snapchat, Twitter and IG.

I'm on Reddit way too much. Some of my favorite haunts include /r/autodetailing, /r/personalfinance, /r/diy, /r/entrepreneurridealong, /r/productivity, and /r/minimalism. But I read my wife AskReddit threads at night before bed.

Wow I didn't know some of these subreddits existed. I was actually asking more for research purposes than for finding new burrows to nest in...until now. :)

Awesome feedback, thanks to all that have responded so far!

instagram is a must for me.. in twitter i like the usability and freedom for creativity .. and facebook is a dark hole

I found reddit very interesting, lots of smart individuals sharing nice content. Facebook is garbage but I use the Facebook messenger, I don't gossip. Sometimes I like to see girls and detect the Photoshop editing.

Social media and I do not mix, at least not in the conventional sense. However, once every few months I'll spend my free time on Facebook interacting vicariously with mud-slinging relatives who I know are engaging in criminal activity in order to gather information on them. I then place the screenshots of "our" or their conversations on an HDD that contains numerous folders with evidence of their suspicious behaviour, most of which range in consequence from a forgettable slap on the wrist to a sullied reputation they'll never be able to fix.

Just to clarify, I don't do this to everyone, only a select few individuals.

I actually read a bunch of blogs and I lurk in their comment sections. Social media per se is not something I do just for fun, but this blog is starting to lure me in pretty consistently ;)

I am with Sherbert Hoover, Reddit is my addiction.

Heheh, I'm sure you have your reasons, mate. Thank you for the interesting response! :)

Wow, that is pretty surprising to see in 2016, but I can totally understand that.
Bleght, might I ask if your blogroll is all IM related, or do you prefer the blog style for other interests as well?

Yeah, you could say I'm a bit behind the times on that one, it's just that most social networks don't rub me the right way and I seem to be more keen on longer pieces of content. My blogroll includes many different topics that interest me like work-related stuff, IM, things related to my hobbies and just people with interesting points of view, but I've noticed that most IM blogs are getting stale and repetitive when you follow them for long enough and this forum has supplanted them successfully due to the many members and varied info. There are some niche blogs out there with really fun communities and comment sections actually.
