Favorite Fonts?

What are your favorite fonts to use on your sites?

I'm having the hardest time picking Google fonts that look good. Looking forward to seeing your personal favorite font combos. :D

I always use verdanda on mine. Read somewhere, a good while back, that there are about 5 or 6 standard fonts to stick with as they are easy to read. Makes sense

Makes perfect sense, its obvious I tried too hard with my font choices. Would like to find this article..
 
Something about Times New Roman I really like..
 
Times roman and Verdana are the most readable font used for content, you can even try Calibri.
 
i love microsoft's new Calibiri. Ariel was so gross!
 
Depends on the situation and what i am doing with the font.

If i am writing code i prefer a good monospaced font that is easy to distinguish characters like 1Ll, zero's and Ohh's, etc.
A few decent programmer fonts that i like are Envy Code R, and Source Code Pro.

If i am in Photoshop or iLLustrator then the sky is not the limit. Would be easier to name a font that i dislike than to point out a favorite font.
I tend to dislike serif over sans in design, but even then that is a very general statement that is not always true.

As for CSS and Web fonts i need to invest into a few go to fonts with some healthy backups. Something i haven't really done yet. Same goes for note taking and word. I need to get something good on the eyes for long term reading and writing.

obviously these people don't even understand what you're refering to.

you really need two google fonts:

1. for the paragraph text

2. really thick for the bold header titles


as for the paragraph text there are a lot of great ones. open sans is the default awesome standard, it's the new arial (you can't go wrong).

as for bold you could stick with open sans as well. the thickness goes from very thin (300) to very bold (900!). i'd also recommend raleway.
 
A lot from Google fonts - Arvo, for example, is great for headlines.
 
All gurus' old favourite for sales and squeeze pages, slide show videos always was a tahoma font.
 
I remember when I was a kid, then I thought that Comic Sans MS was the sh*t. :)
Right now my vote goes for Helvetica Neue.
 
I used to be into 'cool' fonts until I realized that they don't convert. I tend to stay very basic now. I realized that what's easily readable for me is not always easily readable for someone else.
