Favorite Alt Coin & Why?

Haven't been as active here as I would like. Been heavy into the crypto world since the early days of BTC. So I figured I would start a thread to see what ALTs you think are going places? Clearly we can see the ALT mania that has happened recently.

Goal is to form a valuable thread for discussion & speculation we can all use going forward. Along with have a time stamp for future reference. Lets keep it professional all this fomo / doom lover or haters can pollute another thread please. Lets use BHW to help each other by providing valuable insight.

Looking forward to hearing your ideas & thoughts.

Bitcoin isn't a alt coin, right?

People are edgy right due to the btc price so who knows whats going to happen.

Me right now its GNT again. Its a great idea but maybe too far away from mass acceptance to be big. Its based on Etherium so seeing on how that goes I might trade GNT/ETH.

LTC not so much future I think, segwits done and the news has been sold.

Ixcoin IMO, all the reasons explained in my thread i made about the coin already (which as expected got no interest) people never listen when they should. .

Ixc is set and ready to go, its just waiting for the right moment to be adopted by the right person... and its going to go places....

Monero. aka XMR
It is going to blow up real soon.
Even bitcoin has privacy issues. Monero is fully focused on privacy.

Anyone else regretting not buying up a couple hundred BTC about a year and a half ago when it dropped to $200?

$200? When I first looked at BTC they were $60 a piece. Slept on it and find out years later it's at $1,800.

BTC will hopefully always be #1 of the crypto world.
I would think litecoin had a nice pump based on the fact that it is/was a testing ground for a potential scaling solution for BTC. Personally think it will retrace a bit more. Just speculation at this point.
Though seeing so much momentum in such a short period of time leads me to believe there is more profit taking coming soon.

From first glance it just looks like another alt coin as far as GNT. Though I will look into it further. 8-10x+ gains if you were able to get in around March's bottom / low.
What exactly makes you think this altcoin has merit over and above the rest? Just curious your overall thoughts / consensus.

So your long on Monero from how far back?
Monero was definitely a sound purchase of mine when it was much lower prior to the first major pump.

I'm sure there are 10's of 1000's that are thinking the same or similar thing. Risk definitely paid off this time around.

Believe me, you will never feel as bad as the guy who had 10k BTC when they weren't worth shit and spend it on 2 large pizzas.

Ive said this in other posts and dont really want to start to sound like a fanboy but I do like the idea of the distributed computing aspect of the Golem Network. If that gets off the ground gnt would be used to buy computing power.

Ive actually been looking for other similar projects but only one ive found so far that looks likely to happen is IEXEC. Can anyone list some more?

Sure theres sia and maidsafe for decentralized storage idea but is there really much demand for that? Where as something you can pay and use cloud power to do some 3d rendering or whatever could be very usefull (amazon aws seems to do alright for itself haha). Folding@home would have been a lot more popular back on the ps3 had you got paid to run it.

Dev wise they seem to be on target and theres an apha version of the brass golem front end for it up on github that I'd like to try and find time to look at this weekend.

You have to give their dev team credit for finding a very nasty bug with etherium and getting it fixed on the exchanges.

All this is long term but brass golem (stupid name though!) is pegged for beta release end may I think so could get a boost for gnt there.

Short term gnt can be traded against eth so could be some day trading opportunities with it.

I have invested into XRP. A lot of banks are backing Ripple.

NEM looks promising
