Funny, I just posted a thread sharing the latest video of this dude comparing the top most popular WP themes in regards to speed and performance and the results were kind of surprising.
Not because of what is the fastest loading and lightweight theme but which theme got 3nd and 4rd.

In my whole digital marketing carrier I never find any theme that is well optimized in terms of speed. Every these uses its own jQuery, CSS and they take a lot of time to load which increases the loading time. So I suggest my clients to go with custom HTML designs rather than themes. To all my clients I prefer them creating a custom HTML design for their website.
