Fastest Wordpress theme?

Hi, I'm looking for fastest free wordpress theme. I need it for news/blog website.

I am using NewsMag Lite but that theme is slow, I am looking for something easier and faster to load.

So maybe You just need to optimize the theme.
Newsmag or newspaper theme works well if well optimized.
 
Astra is fast. Generate Press also. Both compatible with elementor.

I trying to get accepted in AdSense, and they denied my request I don't know how many times because "site is down or unavailable". And site is up and running whole time. First time it was slow, after that I optimized photos, installed some plugins that helped with loading speed and I still got rejected few more times for same reason.

Because of that I decided to get new and lighter theme and also get faster hosting.

Thank you all, I will try Astra and GeneratePress.
 
I love newspaper 9 theme. It got hell lot of functionality and you can even install a lot of demos with a single click. A lot of demos available there.

I think you just need to optimize the theme. When you optimized maybe then they work well.

It is also very MODERN/UP TO DATE

Other platforms look dated

I'll probably switch over all my blogs to GP soon. The price is right!
 
Never tried Astra, but GeneratePress is awesome for me, the downsides of this theme:
  • not many customization options for free users, you have to play HTML/CSS with yourself when you want to customize sth advanced like remove author/date code.
  • their forum is jammed with useless, tons, tons, tons of noise threads, you may have a very hard time to find your answers (free routine)
The paid version is well worth the money, you can nearly customize everything.

PS: adsense rejected u maybe not a theme issue, usually, no enough articles, design is pretty bad, or website is tooooooo new. Hosting speed is another factor to make your site fast.
 
Never seen GeneratePress before but it looks decent. Premium version is licensed for unlimited sites as well? I’m going to try it out.
 
GeneratePress (free & premium), Astra (free & premium), Schema (premium) and OceanWP (free & premium) are all fast loading WordPress themes.
 
I can recommend ghost cms for you if you are okay with leaving Wordpress . I chose ghost over WP since it is free, has bunch of free themes, AMP is inbuilt in ghost, is certainly lightweight and fast.

What is more customized from it? Where you can change logo, delete author link in footer and more customisation for FREE
