I will be running a real estate site for my client which won't be the lightest and looking for the best possible WP hosting in terms of speed performance.

What are your recommendations?

WPX host is a good one for the fastest.

You can also use Cloudways with their nitro pack boost.

Or get any external cdn to speed up. Don't know if they still speed up because on most of my websites cloudflare or cloudfront does a good job.

Rocket.net is definitely very fast.

I think any paid hosting site offers great speed these days. I think it is a matter of finding the lowest price for the speed that you need. Many webhosts offer shared hosting which shares your speed with others and single dedicated servers on tiered levels depending on the speed you want. If you shop around, I am sure you will discover the best price for a dedicated server for the speed that you need for a real estate site. A good strategy would be to start small and then as your business grows online to move up in speed as more visitors visit your site. It definitely sounds like you won't need a lot of speed right away since your just starting out.

Finding a webhost that is very cost effective in what they offer in terms of security, is more important than speed I think just starting out.

Google Cloud. Nothing beats their networks performance and latency. (They have their on transoceanic cables. It’s google lol). Make sure you choose the premium tier network. Also, E2 instance with the newest processors for best performance. Downside is that you will need to install the machine/ web server. Ideal setup is Nginx as reverse proxy + Apache + PHP FPM + Varnish. i recommend installing CWP panel on the google cloud instance, it has this webserver model already, so it’s just one click after you setup the panel. If you don’t know how, ask a freelancer to setup it for you. But I can guarantee it will beat any hosting that people suggest above. Most top tier managed Wordpress hostings are using google cloud, so you are paying but your site to be in their server, along with many others. It’s much better to have your own. Plus, Google cloud offers $300 in free credits. Also setup cloudflare along with it or use Google cloud cdn. I recommend cloudflare more because it has optimization tools.

Yeah, Cloudflare is a really good way to speed up your site and serve the files from the CDN rather than your origin server. If someone is low on budget, he could buy cheap hosting at the start, use Cloudflare as CDN to improve server response time, and when money starts rolling, then one can switch back to good hosting providers like WPX. WPX Hosting is rated as one of the most affordable and fastest-managed WP hosting providers.

Here's a link backing the statement above -WPX compared with 24 other hosting services. Link- https://wpx.net/wordpress-speed/independent-supernerd-kevin-ohashis-2022-wp-host-speed-tests-revealed/

I think the best one really depends on your target audience, let's say the US, then choose hosting with the servers in USA.
Don't buy the cheapest plan, upgrade it

I recommend starting with definition. What does "fastest" mean for you. The speed might depend on many thinks starting from a hosted solution and finishing with plugins and addons a person uses with their Wordpress.

WordPress hosting.
At the moment I am testing a domian on ionos $1 plan (europe) , it is easy, slick and fast, yes.

But the catch is, their live chat support told me that their new plans have some bugs.

These are;
you can not do PHP settings.

They do not have a file manager panel, you must use FTP, which does not work on my plan, I tested 4 FTP clients= servername always get refused.

Maybe you can upload htaccess file thats all. With FTP you only have access to the wp-content directory.

Yes I like the concept of Wordpress hosting, easy, slick, fast, but I can not work properly with such limitations.
Does all Wordpress hosting providers have these limitations?

Happy sunday !

TiagoS;

yepp google cloud vm is fast and relative easy to set up.
But the costs.....each thing, ressource costs money; your vm set up, network, bandwith, ssd and traffic volume:

Using small vm 1 cpu and 2gb ram ist fast with wordpress, but you not have DDOS protection on that vm, so maybe you must buy external DDOS mitigation service or using cloudflare. This vm cost you around $18/ month without traffic volume.

You can enable committed use for 3 years without any pre payment and your costs will cut down to 50%.
Traffic costs are addtitional charge, I do not know when you get 100gb traffic how much that will cost you.
maybe you cn save money on traffic cost when using google cloud + cloudflare ? I don't know ...

A shame that google not give you DDOS protection on your vm like Linode or ionos or others....
I like their easy to use ssh console, it opens and you type in your commands.
No complicate fricklings on ssh console like;

permission denied, hostkeys not verified, ssh +password not works and many more of these errors, on most vm/vps providers they have rigorous locks built in, I was not able on other vps (hetzner) to use their console with ssh keys or with ssh root@ip.

So I using webhost and not must dealing with complicated ssh tech frickling.

It is really based on your client's location and the audience location.

But as for speed I always recommend Namecheap, though wpengine could work out good for you as well.

flprocess: namecheap web hosting has fast speed ?
Really?
