You can look for any hosting provider with 24X7 customer support and nearly 100% uptime. Also, before going for any hosting provider always look for the customers reviews. And if only loading speed is your concern, then you should look for VPS or dedicated servers. Apart from this loading speed is not only depend on the hosting company. It is also depends on the compilation time of code and other factors too.

That's a rather large misconception, while CloudFlare certainly provides a CDN of sorts for your static content and images (even now some dynamic) it has been proven many times over in most all cases CloudFlare will actually slow down your site as opposed to speed it up especially when you have the free or pro packages (they use the same servers).

CloudFlare is awesome for many other reasons though including anycast DNS, basic CDN, DDOS protection, extensive software firewall like solution, reverse proxy, etc.

A good server + a good CDN will blow the wheels off CloudFlare unless you pay for their enterprise (or larger) package.
 
1st of all what is your location (this is important) and also the location of the majority of your visitors. If you have let's say 90% of your visitors from canada then i suggest you look for a canadian based hosting service.
 
I agree, all I was trying to suggest was something he could try within his budget, and I will agree to disagree that it slows you down, I have only ever experienced an increase in speed. No matter what it comes down to the fact its shared hosting at that price which will be slow.

I have tried Cloudflare and free CDN it made my site significantly slower.

You need to expand your horizons beyond the vastly oversold EIG brands :P

There are a ton of web hosting providers whom provide excellent performance for a small dollar amount. Once you begin looking outside the "top 10 web hosts" when you Google search the sooner you will find a hosting provider whom actually cares about their clients performance.
 
My vote goes for Servinio... Bought a one year plan for $43 and have been using them for years! Great service providers.

I have tested both side by side as well and noticed a significant slow down.. Any idea what gives?
 
Hawkhost is one I would personally recommend myself, I find them to be cheap, fast and reliable and do not have a fault with them.

You should give poweruphosting a try. I just purchased their ssd hosting and so far i'm happy with the results. Good luck with your search.
 
I don't used hostgator personally, but there are very bad reviews for hostgator in BHW.
 
dream host is excellent. I am using their web hosting for quite some time now and they are really good. The best part is their excellent customer support.
 
I am unsure if you are saying your spending goals are $5-10 yearly or monthly, but if monthly I have a site you should check out. I highly recommend namecheap because they offer $49.99 yearly hosting with a free domain name. I have been with them for some time now and am currently hosting 2 sites. They also have online tech support as well.
