Fanpage Status Updates - Little Help Please

For the life of me I cannot understand how status updates on a fanpage get to my fans? Does it automatically appear on their walls or newsfeeds or someplace else and do they need to enable something in their account to see the status updates?

Some FB experts please chime in.

it like when you post a status update and your friends see it!

but this posts to the messages/updates box which isn't prominently displayed on a users account. They have to go into the folder and click it twice to find the updates and it doesn't give them a notice of a new update either.
 
Facebook fanpage status updates get to the wall of the fans automatically.It does not need any kind of modification. Also clearify what update you are talking about? facebook page updates in the message box or status update?

It posts on their news feed or most recent, one of the above. I join Fanpages for the heck of it, and I get MANYYYY updates every minute.
 
Maybe someone could elaborate. Cuz I don't see them on my Wall OR Messages.

I read another post about changes to FB's status update policy. Something like 10% of updates actually get to people.
 
this may be silly but are you sure you have a fan page and not a group as only fans pages show there status on everons most recent and top news but groups dont

Yes thanks it's a fan page! In fact, I checked a few of my other FB accts I sent it to and nothing.

Hmmm...
 
UPDATE:

OK, as a previous post said, it DID go through, but to see it I had to go to Messages, then Updates. But it never showed anywhere else - not even in notifications.

So a status update is actually seen by 10% of page's fans ? This might be true...
 
if your status update has comments and likes it will show up on more people news feeds because its interesting, if not than only you will read it, fb is dinamic
 
How do you do a status update for your fan page? This confuses me?

Open your Fan Page

Select "Edit Page" Underneath your photo

Find "Promote Your Page" at the bottom right area of screen.

Select "Send An Update To Fans"

So what exactly should I be sending in these status updates? I have just a generic page, so I could send any offer really. Something like "Wow check this out to get a free iPod!!!" Then give them my CPA link?
Would this get my page banned?

As far as I know you can promote whatever since it's YOUR fan page. Although I've been finding that a lot of my status Updates don't go through. Someone in another thread said maybe 5% with FB's new policies.
I haven't done any extensive testing though.
And my main issue is that the recipient has to select their message tab and THEN their updates tab. 2 things that I think most people don't do.
Someone said Status updates show up on their wall, but I haven't found this the case

Here's what they see if it comes through after clicking messages and then updates:

Hmm I've always heard that they are in their news feed or whatever. I guess I'll test it out and see.
