Hello all,
I received a false strike from a Team I have been working with
I edited an introducing video for them for their team and I gave them permission to upload it on the Team channel. After 1 day I uploaded it on my own channel and I told the owner this.
Me and the leader talk on discord about what the status is and when I finish the montage.
I worked in a total of 2 weeks on the montage. Everything was recorded by me but the replays I had to edit in the game were from them because obviously I created this for their team. The video itself is all edited by me and NOT them!
After 2 hours the leader (Thomas) of the team unlisted the video because the montage I created for their team was 50% copied from another well-known editor. Keep in mind they wanted me to make a style like a video so I tried to copy the style. So after I finished, Thomas uploaded it to the team channel. Before that time Thomas already had seen the video and he decided to upload it to the channel. I uploaded the video then 1 day later because I am the owner of the video. I created everything in the video and it's all made by me and yes they gave me credits for that, that's not the problem here. After 2 months the leader of the team (Thomas) reported my video to YouTube and the video got taken down. I received a strike on my channel and I didn't do anything wrong! They did NOT tell me I should remove the video I uploaded and created myself so I could also not know but then again I created the video, I am the owner but they still reported it!
Thomas could simply contact me about deleting the video but claimed it was 50% his because I made it for their team and he reported my video after 2 months because it was still up on my channel and it got falsely taken down from my channel. I think this is not fair because I myself created the video for THEIR team.
He (Thomas) also send me the thumbnail so I could upload the thumbnail on my channel but later someone in the comments said they were gonna report me for using their thumbnail so I immediately created a thumbnail for the vid on my channel and uploaded it. As I said after 2 months he reported my video because 50% of the community didn't like it and the video from the team channel got unlisted but mines was still up. Can't I (the creator of the video) upload what I created myself the video on my own channel? Yes, I did create it for their team BUT I still own the video because I created it 100% myself FOR them. Now I already responded with a counter-notification on that copyright strike I received because its very very unfair from my side!! My own video gets taken down for what? the owner (Thomas) said in the complaint that he reported it because it was still up on my channel but he didn't even tell me to unlist this or make it private. I still didn't get a response from YouTube. Now I try it via email and I hope I get a response because this is very unfair from my side! It has already been 3 days and YouTube still didn't respond.
The big problem here is that I don't have proof of me creating it because I deleted the 300+ GB project folder, the size was huge so I deleted the project right after it got uploaded BUT that's not the problem here because the team obviously credited me in the description and they know I created this. IF I need to proof YouTube I created this I CANT because as I said the file size was HUGE and I had to delete the project, the reason for that was because I had to compress all the recordings and the total file size was over 400 Gigabytes BUT I have the messages of me and the leader talking and the status of me how far I am, etc. but as I said that is not the problem because they credited me and the team and I know I created this. The problem is that the team reported the video I created FOR them. The leader Thomas could simply tell me to unlist the video from my channel but instead of that he reported my video I created myself and it got falsely taken down.
Now my question is, even tho I don't have proof I created this, I still have the messages. Can I win this? because this is not fair on my side...
Thanks for reading.
