False Copyright Claims

So people can make false copyright claims against you and can get suspended? There is nothing that you can do about it? I am seeing that this is getting rampant on Youtube.

you can do many things about it.

you can:
-cry
-whine
-punch a wall
-punch a wall with left hand
-kick a dog
-yell at your loved ones
-eat a tomato
-call customer support and get automated message thus kicking dog harder
-tell your fish about it
-post a thread on a forum about how you got bamboozled and make a 1 line complaint about how youtube is in the eggbeater

so dont come here and tell me there is nothing to do. unless you already did all of this.. in which case... rinse and repeat

Lol I think you can keep the claim that you are the owner of the copyright.

So every party has to enter theier personal details and google will decide the whole thing. But the vid stays locked until everything is clear. ( will take weeks )

But anyway youtube will check the vid for the official Terms & Conditions very strict, so if they find anything critical they will delete it anyway.

If you can identify the perp, it would seem that you have potential damages if you can quantify and prove monetary losses you experience as a result of the false claim. Small claims court might be an option. Significant damages would warrant hiring an attorney. If you go the small claims route and win, collecting is another issue altogether.

For the most part, you are on your own for collection. It is tedious and time consuming at best. There are a myriad of sites that provide the gruesome details. However, if you do prevail, you can file a judgement against the offending party, and this will appear on their credit rating. This can be devastating to individuals who rely upon good credit. Best case: you acquire, I believe, non-taxable income.

I receive one myself and my hosting account suspended my hosting until I delete the problematic file. It took me 3 days before I was able to remove it including the email exchanges from my hosting provider. After all is settled, my adsense earning went down to almost 90%. Now Im rebuilding it and hoping not to get another claim that will affect my earnings. I dont know why my earnings was affected bu it does. The traffic went down with it.

An big Albanian corrupt company is faking copyright documents, and they delete almost every Albanian song on YouTube.

Their model is:
- Upload 1 min songs to Youtube
- Sell the full songs on their site

NO Profit for the musicians!! It's incredible!!

They even got a couple of vids of mine removed, and I even had the signature of the musician for the rights to upload it.

NO answer from YouTube after 1 year & I'm not the only one who told them about this. And the fraud company? They are shitting money with over 30 MILLION views on their channel.

If you can't prove you own the copyright then you're kinda fucked especially if someone else claims they own it.

If you are the copyright holder or have rights to use you fill out the counter notice that you get from youtube or hosting and your account should be back. If you don't own the rights then nothing you can do about it other than removing the infringing content.
