Hi, was wondering if anyone has faked feedback on sites like elance? I am looking to start on elance and really don't want to have to start with no feedback. I have heard people say just create a buyer account and give your self feedback. Is it that easy? I take it there's fees due for every listing but is it really that easy? Also is it possible to buy a elance account or will that pretty much get me banned when I change emails and bank accounts? Just wondering if anyone has done this before. Thanks

Why fake anything?

If you know what you're doing, just make sure to put in as much info as possible when applying for the job. You have no idea how many times I've seen new users simply copy pasting their details when giving a proposal. That's one of the reasons people insta reject the newbies.

Literally no point in buying an elance account, very easy to get banned when you're changing bank accounts. If you knew how to play around with IPs, you could possibly create accounts and fake reviews but seriously why bother?

Just bid on as many projects that you can do and write good proposals.

Try your best don't copy/paste ever your cover letter. If you can manager and satisfy client you must get a new job. Add some related gorgeous portfolio onto your profile.

The truth is, no one will even look at your profile if you have no feedback. Only single review can improve your chances dramatically. My suggestion - let someone else (your friend) setup a low value project for you. I am speaking from experience here, I used to be successful freelancer on both Elance and Freelancer (GetAFreelancer).

After that initial review things will become easier - but STILL you need to write great proposals and have portfolio ready. Otherwise you'll just get low-quality clients that will either pay peanuts, be too demanding or unprofessional (if they are stupid enough to fall for cookie-cutter response chances are they don't know what they event want and how complex it is), or both.
