Fake Traffic? Help...

About a week ago, I bought a SEO package from someone on here. I think they are sending fake traffic to the site to increase the traffic visitors to "make their services look good".

Can anyone tell me something on how I can confirm this? I do not want to mention who it is, and I don't want to mention my URL that I used this package on.

Advertise on BHW
ISP is a good way to check. Engagement metrics like time on site, etc is ok too. Pattern in browser/os is something else you can check. If he is great, you can't "prove" it. If he is lazy, should be easy. Good LUck.

Thanks.. Most likely it is fake then.

I have had this specific site for awhile, and I am familiar at what my traffic does prior to converting.. Sucks that I paid $120 for something that I suspect is fake... Dam. (Backlinks are still good I guess =/)
 
check your ISP for sure and don't forget that every sales thread gets a report button :) in case you are sure of the traffic is fake
 
You can also check if their site rank for some keywords in Google.

What do you mean? Can you elaborate a bit?
 
It could be real people but non targeted people, or could be real people in a spammy way like pop under traffic or expired domain traffic that he is reselling which basically never converts and is super cheap but technically are real people. Could have also been a click farm ran by real people, but people who have no interest in converting. Should have gotten more specifics from him before throwing money at him on how the traffic is provided. If loads of quality traffic was that easy to come by then you wouldn't need to buy a package/service, also quality traffic wont be so cheap. Good converting traffic comes from real verified websites/ blogs/ influencer media etc.

Yea.. Got the email from BHW and wanted to try it out. FIgured if he spent lots on BHW and his sales thread had lots of orders, that it would be a good service. Oh well, live and learn! Thanks for that!
 
check which country mostly your traffic comes from. If it comes from China or Russia, then beware.. Coz this are purely bots...

The traffic is mostly USA, but my original traffic is too.
 
Check user behavior - easiest way to check traffic for bots

Reviews are hard to judge unless they specifically stated that the traffic converted. Even then, those reviews could have been purchased as well. Some people want fake traffic for the slight temporary bump in signaling to Google that they have a relevant site.

I get it, fake traffic yea. But posing to be a SEO company that I pay $120 for a package to test, (Which this was the best package they offered). I was a little bummed out to come to that conclusion of the traffic being fake =(
 
Not necessarily that you get fake traffic from those who sold you package, but it might be coming from one of the links that were created.
If you're able to see the source - block it.
