Fake traffic good for SEO?

So I recently came across software that automatically generates fake traffic for you.

Its basically a program that will send fake traffic to your site from all around the world as much or as little as you want...you can control how much "traffic" you get and even where it comes from to make it look a bit more natural...If google sees this will it think "hey this guys getting decent views! lets bump him up the SERPs!" or am I more likely to get penalised for this?

What If I were to make a good looking website with a few unique articles and keep adding them for about a month and then just sell the website showing that traffic has steadily increased? I suppose that would be highly un-ethical but whats to stop anyone else doing this? I'm guessing there could be decent money made?

Are there any other useful things I could do with this?

As far as I'm concerned, there's no manual or algorithmic penalty for sending bot traffic to your website (it doesn't really help or hurt your site), although if you were to monetise your site with Adsense, then there would be a risk of having your account disabled for sending phony traffic, especially if the phony traffic was designed to interact with your ads.

I've seen some members such as macdonjo3 theorise that increasing the CTR of your site in the SERPS can have an effect on your rankings, but he stated that bot traffic didn't work.
 
can someone confirm for me please, so getting regularly decent amount of traffic to ur website will definitely will improve the rank my website or is it just guessing ?
 
Well the thing is I could make it look like quality traffic...I can state how long the "visitors" should stick around on the site and even where they are coming from...although the message I seem to be getting throughout here is...there generally is no effect and if anything it could be bad?

i'm foreign when it comes to fake traffic, but there is some networks that wont accept you until you get a specific traffic daily, if you are into that, it can work! testing may be the most boring thing since you need alot of time to do it, but good luck tho :)
 
It will not help you get any rise in serp and no google is not going to penalize you too.
 
It wont help at all. Ive tested this before with a site I was already ranking in the 14 spot, started steadily increasing bot traffic to the site up 65,000 hits for 4 months and no SEO work...and nothing happened to ranking.
 
To be honest it does nothing for SEO. All it's good for is gaming Alexa for resale values.

I wouldn't waste your money.
 
are you talking about IGR insane g ranker? according to the sales pitch, it SIMULATES a google search so it MAY help SERP more. I don't see how directly accessing the page helps anything besides taking up resources...
 
Any Fakes are not Good for any Things.

Dont know, how Fake traffic effects on SEO Ranking & How Google Reacts. But its sure, if you send Fake Traffics on AdSence Site, Google Must not be Silent.
 
It shouldn't be a problem unless the users wreck havoc like click bombing or high bounce rates.
 
I don't think it will have any effect at all. CTR might help you move up if you are on the page 1 but still, it is a big maybe. There is no data to prove that.

This is a great question, i have played around with this in the past. Results that I got where it can increase you in the SERP. Please keep in mind that it's been over 2 years sense I tried it. At the time I was running a technology site and had a mixture of all different types of traffic. I was using this method to rank and be competitive with sites like cnet & how to geek. What worked for me was to build up a good amount of traffic to the site before you apply this method and use it to make your site even more popular by slowing increasing the traffic to the site, now keep in mind that in order for the search engines to see this volume you wanted to have big G analytics on the site. If you going to do this make sure your using a correctly built peace of software to do it, big G is far more advanced than it was when it worked for me and when I was doing this.
 
I have tried it and seen absolutely no benefit. Would be interested to hear if anyone else has.
 
i don't know about fake traffic, but sending "real" direct traffic to my site helped alot getting my site ranked even without building any backlinks, i only did onsite seo
