Fake Subs, whats the point?

okay so this is like stupid and maybe classed as a noob question (sorry if it is)
BUT could someone explain to me what is the point in creating accounts so sub yourself on like ALOT of people do... (some even like pay)
i mean if there all fake then no one is actually going to view your videos...
so i don't get it.
i know it could get you on the "most subscribed" list, but who actually looks at that? (i never have in all the time i've been on youtube)
wouldn't it be easier doing sub4sub on freds page?
could someone like explain?

Well, most people are going for 'YouTube Partner' which you get paid for you're videos. You need an amount of Subscribers to get there.

OR you just show off to your friends

I have seen many partners with 350 or less subs, so for me fake subs seem pointless but that's just my opinion.

We only do it to be fake celebrities. To have our photo taken.

yeah i saw a guy with 20 subs and he was a partner, all because he owned the rights to ALL of his videos (so he said)
