Anyone here know the do's & don'ts, is it even worth making one? I've read mixed information from lawsuits, to success. From what I understand so long as no 'real' names or companies are mentioned you should be fine.

news websites should always verify the truth of a news before publishing it..if you are not sure of its authenticity just mention the source of the news within your published news article alongwith the source url...you will be legally safe..dont publish your own opinion on a controversial issue if it triggers communal violence or hurts any specific community..don't defame a person without any proven documents..you can just quote others, like.."he said it" but don't put your own opinion inside articles. Dont defame any political figure just to stay safe :)
 
I am also using fake news website But make sure you get a offshore host and anonymous domains.
 
i'm tunisian, and there are couple of fake news websites here that they are very known, but they dont really fake news, if you scroll down in the website you'll see a sign saying (the news of this website is totally fake and has no relation with reality) but the reason they are successfull is that they make FUNNY news that critisize the politic situation, but to get known you need a couple of strong funny articles that will bring the attention.

for exemple the tunisians has big facebook group that contains about 200 k members, and its like National group to have fun and people in it are very active,so they post there and everything will work alone.

i just gave you an exemple of a Tunisian Fake News website, i hope you twist it or whatever to reach what you want friend. :rofl:
 
I have always wondered how does one make a fake news site look credible. Where to find the blazing hot news which should be faked? Can someone give me examples of some fake news sites? And finally, must I include the source of the original article that I am parodying (won't it look odd if I do so?)?
 
I really don't see the point of doing a fake news site unless you do like a parody site. Maybe kind of like the Onion.
The others are garbage and will not make you any money.

There was an article in the UK independent about them today, saying that they cause problems but still drive a load of traffic.
 
Can someone explain how can these sites drive traffic? Seems something to try, maybe for a niche (tech / mobile).
 
it is a way of making money, but I think you can use it as a source of revenue just temporarily, as people will know it is fake and ban it later
 
I've always wondered how they make money or what the point of them are.
 
These sites will often bring lots of traffic. Which will lead to more money. I assume that this is why some do it.
