Fake likes in 2018

What's your opinion about fakes likes in 2018? Sorry if this is a rookie question :(
There's some websites offering from 25 to 250 free fake likes every 15 minutes.
Does it increase or kill engagement?
I tried it but I couldn't get to a conclusion. My account has 2500 followers.

Fake likes are only good if you want get promos from brands. But most of them see that the likes are fake (in the most cases it is very easy to tell)

How can you tell when likes are fake?
Most websites offer likes exchange, even though likes are fake, the accounts liking the post are real.

You look to see if the account liking is already following you. If no, probably a fake like, check the account that did the liking.
Once you check the account doing the liking, you will usually see that they have made up names, crapy photos, photos that mismatch (not the same person), and/or just borrowing material from other accounts. Also, their posts will have few likes, and non-existent comments (or made up crappy comments), No contact information (or a crappy contact like [email protected], or free email sites), no blog, no phone, no location.

I mean, it's quite easy to find out fakes. And the person doing the research will only get pissed off once they find that you are lying, and will put your name, account, and email on a blacklist. You'll never work with them again. And, now, many sites relay their blacklist information between them.

You can fake other inexperienced companies, but not brands or agencies that work with brands.

Thanks for your reply but I think things went sideways here.
My goal is not to deceive any brands or agencies. My account has only 2500 followers, I'm still far away from working with any brands.

My question was if I'm using fake likes it'll improve engagement and consequently increase the number of followers?
Do fake likes help pumping posts up to top post?

I've been using fake likes on my posts and some do extremely well with over 100K views and others with 2k views only so I'm not sure what's going on.
 
Fake likes definitely don't improve engagement. I think it will make your own followers not see your posts as much. I have used engagement rounds but I didn't like back with my main account. The result was the same - my followers stopped seeing my posts. Those likes were mostly from real accounts. The blackhat route for my brand account was one of the worst decisions I've made.

Fake likes are not worth it in my honest opinion. Anyone with half a brain can click on a sample size of your likes and look at the quality of accounts. If I see lots of fake likes on a user and I'm an advertiser or somebody then I don't want to do business with you. So best bet is to keep it organic as possible.

I just realized I'm shadow banned on another IG account that I have. Maybe because of fake likes :weep:
