Browser emulation won't click a link it can't physically click unless it's specifically trying to - which you wouldn't in this case because you're trying to appear human. Even if it could and if their bot is trying to click every link you're only going to catch a small percentage which won't really stop your budget bleeding dry. It wouldn't fix the problem.

Built bots for a living for several years and I've analyzed click fraud bots targeting my own campaigns. It's a complete pain in the ass and god awful in some niches but a fake link isn't the answer I'm afraid.

so my question is ... I thought bots just parsed the html to look for links... you are saying they can parse the CSS as well and avoid links that don't show up on the screen due to styling?

Fake clicks are the biggest problem for paid media marketers because fraudsters click on paid ads, which exhaust the ad budget and affect the metrics of ad performance. It also affects the overall decision-making process in business.
