The niches keep dying very quickly nowadays. For example skeleton in Rome format basically died in 2 weeks. And when I pivoted the views tanked and the metrics are trash. What to do? Is there a fix?

because everyone copies the same format at once, so the algo gets saturated and moves on quickly.

If you are complaining that trends keep dying before you can take advantage, then set your own trend. Instead of jumping between different types of content to copy what other people are doing, pick one thing and stick to it, so your channel becomes authority, and you become known for that content.

What niche are you in?

Faceless niches are dying fast in 2026 because the algorithm now instantly flags "low-effort" mass-produced AI content, so the only way to fix your tanking metrics is to pivot toward proprietary storytelling or specialized "Expert-AI" hybrids that provide unique information gain that a simple skeleton template cannot replicate.

YT has a thing against faceless channels - there getting demonetized a lot .

Yeah, now niches die super fast, usually within 1–2 weeks, so catching trends can make your channel unstable. When you switch topics suddenly, the algorithm basically gets confused and your old audience doesn’t match the new content anymore. So views drop hard.
Instead of hard pivots, I think, it's better to shift gradually (keep smth consistent like your style, voice or editing, so people still can recognise your channel, and slowly mix in new topics so viewers and algo can adapt.
Another idea is to build a couple (or 3, 4) solid content pillars. It can work better 'cause you won't depend on one viral format that disappears in a week.

With hundreds of channels posting similar content, you need to have some kind of edge. If you don’t have one, you will be left behind.

Most people I know who are doing well are working on multiple channels because YouTube has become unpredictable

The problem might be that you're chasing trends too short-term. It's better to choose a broader niche and adapt your format within it, instead of constantly changing niches. The algorithm also needs time to re-understand your audience.
