I have noticed that some quora answers can perform extremely well for months or even years generating consistent views and engagement , only to experience a sudden decline in traffic without any obvious changes to the content itself.

for those who have been active on quora for a long time , have you experienced significant traffic declines on answers that previously performing well?

would appreciate hearing personal experiences

Yes, I have experienced this before.

In many cases, nothing is actually wrong with the answer. Sometimes user interest changes, newer answers enter the space, or quora starts promoting different content for the same topic.

I have also noticed that answers tied to trends can lose traffic suddenly once interest drops. Evergreen topics usually hold up better, but even those can see declines over time as competition increases.

Yeah, I have seen this happen on quora. An answer can perform really well for months or even years, then suddenly start dropping in views without any edits or obvious reason.

In most cases it’s not about the content changing, it’s just how quora keeps rotating visibility, newer answers start competing for the same question, and engagement signals slowly shift away from the older top answer. Sometimes the topic itself also loses momentum or quora’s internal distribution changes, so even solid evergreen answers naturally fade over time.

Traffic does not necessarily mean there is something wrong with the answer itself. one common reason is increased competition. Quora may start testing and promoting them, which can reduce visibility for older answers.

I have a found personally that traffic fluctuations are normal on quora. that is why I always focus on consistently publishing high quality answers rather than relying too heavily on the performance of a few posts.

I've seen it happen a few times so my advice is not to rely too heavily on a single answer, no matter how well it's performing. Quora seems to change visibility patterns over time and it's usually better to keep publishing and diversify your traffic sources rather than trying to figure out one sudden drop.
