I had my webhost call me up today and try to upsell me some crap. One thing the guy said was "i see you purchased one year for your domain name, why not purchase 5 years, it'll help get traffic to your site." so that got me curious, so i asked him how. he said that part of the search engine's algorithms is to see how long a domain is registered for (meaning will it expire next year or in 20 years) and that search engines consider a domain that is registered for longer in the future as more of an authority site, thus helping you in the SERPs. Fact or Fiction?
